"My name is Izuku Midoriya."

The green-haired boy Mei slowly started to remember stayed silent. He slowly took bites of his sandwich. His emerald green eyes searched Mei for anything significant. To him, she was nothing too unusual. Her only stand-out feature was her eyes. They shone gold with cross marks detailing her pupils nicely.

"Nice to meet you too, Midoriya." Mei smiled as she walked over to him. His previous intimidating aura had disappeared when he stood up. Maybe because he was only three inches taller than her? Maybe because he didn't seem very muscular? Maybe because his facial features blurred his delinquent look? Whatever it was, she found a few factors.

Mei held out her hand for him to take. The sun still shone on her, but her hand was developed by the shadow covering all of Izuku. He spied it for just a second before he took it with glee. He hadn't expected anyone to be up here. Now that someone was, he had to put on the act again.

"You don't seem very busy, Hatsume. Wanna come sit with me?" Izuku retracted his hand from the handshake. He pointed over his shoulder to where he sat before. "Sure!" Her voice was giddy. Her stomach bubbled with excitement. She didn't know why.

Izuku turned around and sat down on the ground. Just as Mei was about to sit, Izuku scooted his blazer over to her. "You can sit on it if you want. I don't want you to sit uncomfortably." He smiled at her and she smiled back. She accepted his kind gesture silently and sat down on his folded blazer. A comfortable distance between them. Her drink found itself on the opposite side to Izuku.

"So, what are you doing here, Hatsume?" Izuku looked at the railing of the roof. A sight of pure blue filled the background. "Well, I was working on something that could become some sort of protective gear that could fold itself to fit different parts of one's body." Mei started. She too looked at the railing.

"Sounds cool." He butted in. It did sound cool though. "That's what I thought too!" Mei threw her arms out. Izuku chuckled at her frustration. Maybe their meeting ontop the school building wasn't going to turn out that bad after all.

With the proper introductions from before, Izuku and Mei got a chance to get to know each other. In the Sports Festival, Mei had only joined Izuku's team for the publicity boost she'd get. Now, they could talk with each other. Without having to take every step cautiously.

Still, they weren't that close. Hence why Izuku didn't talk much about his quirk or his family. And also the reason Mei didn't mention Izuku's unfinished suit. Their conversation consisted of simple everyday subjects, previous events, and upcoming plans they both had for the future.

Suddenly, they were interrupted by the bell. It rang loudly throughout the school, even reaching up to the roof with a considerable amount of sound. Mei got up, immediately giving him his blazer as he would probably need it for class.

"Thank you for lending me your jacket," Mei said, offering him his blazer. Izuku looked at her amused. "You're staying up here, right?" He asked as he stood up. "Only until the other students get to class." Mei said. She still held the blazer in hand.

"Very well." Izuku turned around and picked up his tie. It found itself in his pockets shortly after. "It's quite the cold wind here, isn't it?" Izuku looked at the direction the wind came from. His back was naturally facing Mei because of it.

He smirked as he looked over his shoulder. Mei looked confused by what he was saying. "Yeah?" Her reply was more of a question. It acted like the answer to his question but also as a suggestion for him to continue what he was trying to say.

"I wouldn't want you to be alone and cold up here, would I?" It was a rhetorical question. She didn't answer it. Izuku turned around completely and pushed his blazer back to Mei's chest. "Keep it." He smiled with his eyes closed. She didn't know it, but that was his first genuine smile in a long time.
