Watching a peaceful death of a human being reminds us of a falling star; one of a million lights in a vast sky that flares up for a brief moment only to disappear into the endless night forever. ~Elisabeth Kübler-Ross
----------------------------------
It's cold. I can't remember. Where am I? What happened? My mind blurs in and out, in and out. My vision is starting to come to me. I look around and I see body's of the dead. I gasp.
I remember now.
We crashed and didn't even make it out of the U.S. That's good. At least we wouldn't die out in the middle of the sea where no one would ever find us. This is going to hurt mom more than it hurts me. Then, a small twinge of pain brings me back to reality.
I look around with my eyes wide open. I am dangling upside down with only the seatbelt keeping me strapped in. I taste blood in mouth. Then I look and see a large piece of shrapnel impaled in my lower torso. Strange, I don't feel it. I must have gone numb.
"Jace" I thought, please be alive.
"Jace, jace!" I cry out, I then cough up blood. I look over to see that he strangely only has minor cuts and bruises, but nothing serious. He's only knocked out. I keep calling, begging for him to wake up. He then slowly but surely wakes up. He is down in the ground below me. He stands up and gasps. He looks around and then looks up.
"Lisa!" He screams.
I don't respond. He than does something inhuman. He jumps up onto the seat with inhuman strength. He than gets me unbuckled, picks me up bridal style and flies off to a nearby stream. I look and realized that we crashed right in the middle of the woods. He gently lays me down on my side and says "I'm terribly sorry about this". I look as he takes a hold of the shrapnel and yanks it out of my dying body.
It hurts.
Make it stop.
I scream, and throw up blood. He repositions himself so my head is in the crock of his arm. I feel something wet drip onto my face. I look up to see that he is crying. Don't cry, please don't cry.
"It isn't fair, I usually give people the chance to choose, make sure they completely understand that there is no going back, but I didn't have enough time, I was going to ask you at my free will. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." I cried and held my limp body closer to him. He rocked me for a while, gave me kiss on the cheek, and lay me down.
I looked up and saw, fangs? Protruding from his mouth. His eyes glowed blood red. He gently tilted my head to the right so my neck was exposed. I felt his sharp fangs slowly and than all at once embed in my neck.
More pain.
He than after a while stopped. He put my head in his lap. I felt so weak, and useless, I couldn't resist anything and just let him do this thing to me.
He than brought his forearm up to his mouth and than bit down. Blood slowly trickled down his arm. Than he put his bleeding arm up to my mouth. I felt the blood trickle into my mouth. I expected it to taste metallic and terrible, instead it tasted sweet, like hot chocolate. I drank it. I drank it until I started to shake. My eyes widened and I saw my life story played out. From birth to death. I saw everything.
My veins started to get hotter and hotter until It felt like molten lava. I didn't scream, I couldn't. I just layer their taking it. I felt my finger nails grow into claws. My dull brown pixie cut became jet black and grew. It grew and grew until it was down to my waist. My vision started to blur until I could see everything that the human eye couldn't. I saw everything. My hearing and smell also became sharp and even better. My skin lost all of its blemishes and unwanted hair disappeared. I could feel my teeth becoming straighter, my incisors became pointed and my canines become even more pointed. I realized I didn't have a pulse anymore. My sense of reality came back.
"Jace?"
"What is it?"
"It hurts!" I gritted in pain. The tears of worry turned into tears of joy. He hugged me in relief. I then stood up and looked everywhere. I looked down and saw my wound was gone and all that was left was a ripped hole in my shirt. I was confused.
My senses start to overwhelm me. I look and see a doe trotting around about a mile away. I look and can see its veins, it's life essence being pumped throughout its body. I felt something sharp cut into my lip. I bring my hand up and feel fangs protruding from my mouth. I screamed.
"It's okay" said Jace trying to calm me down.
"I'm sorry but... I turned you into a vampire" he sighed. His eyes weren't grey anymore, they were golden, they were beautiful. "Your eyes!" I exclaimed. "Yah, I've been wearing contacts" he explained.
I then touch my throat, it burned. I was thirsty, but for what? Jace looks at me then says "Your thirsty aren't you". I nod. "I'm sorry but you can't have anything human anymore, all you can drink is blood" he keeps explaining "your going to have to hunt for your food, you see I left you so many years ago because I started the change. I was born a vampire, I started out human but once I turned 5 I lost my human traits. I couldn't be near the sun and I was scared to hurt you, but I couldn't tell you, telling a human is punishable by death. I came back because your my mate".
I'm shocked, more like stunned. Me, his mate?
"Never mind that, you need to drink, come one!" All at once he grabbed my wrist and we ran. We ran at inhuman speed, faster and faster. I expected my legs to burn and be out of breath but none of that stuff happened. He then froze dead in his tracks. Their was that doe, she smelled good.
"This can be yours, while you drain her, I'll find mine". All I did was nod. "Use your eyes to pinpoint a vein close to the heart". I saw one, a big right in the neck, most likely the jugular vein.
"I see it".
He nods and says "Don't extend your fangs until you bite in, take out the legs and good luckk" with that he took off, running faster and faster.
I do as he says, I get in a crouching position, and pounce. Using brute strength I kicked her legs until I heard them snap. She screamed, she tried to get up but couldn't. I then forced her down and extended my fangs. I bite down. Blood began to flow into my mouth. I expected to taste rust, but instead it tasted sweet and nourishing. I finished, looked up and sighed.
Now to find Jace.
