(Oop so this is really short! I was expecting for it to longer but there really was no need for it to drag on :p I normally add a lot of unnecessary details and I'm trying to improve. It'll be edited later on uwu)

Dappled moonlight poured into the lush clearing, illuminating the swaying green grass and glinting off puddles. The sound of cricket song echoed from the shadows, and from somewhere a frog croaked.

The leaves rustled and a dark figure slipped out of the shadows. Narrowed yellow eyes gleamed in the darkness. It paused just before reaching the clearing, a soft snarl escaping it's throat. It unsheathed it's claws and kneaded the earth, its eyes darting around the clearing.

Another figure padded out of the night, smaller then the first, and stood in the darkness so only it's fierce amber eyes were seen.

"So? Where is it?" The larger one barked. It's voice was commanding and frightening, though not very deep, and male.

"It's on it's way," The other cat said. It's voice was smooth and also male. His eyes followed the larger tom's movements, his expression bitter and uneasy.

The clearing went eerily darker as clouds covered the moon. It was creepily silent; all the animals seemed to have hidden in their burrows. A mouse darted desperately through the grass but none of the cats moved to catch it.

The tall one's tail lashed angrily, flattening his ears to his head and snarling. The other cat backed up, eyeing the large cat's unsheathed claws.

"I don't have forever, rogue!" He spat.

The cat winced. "It won't be long," he said. "Be patient."

The large tom growled, then was silent. The strong night wind blew through the trees, making a ssshhshhchh sound. It howled and screeched, and a raindrop fell on the other tom's nose.  A storm was coming.

At last he spoke, "Do it tonight."

The smaller tom looked up from the string of grass he had been toying with. His eyes shone with confusion.

"Do... what?"

The larger cat turned back to the bushes he had come from. Right before slipping back into the night, he looked back at the tom.

"Tell him that I gave permission."

And he faded into the darkness, leaving the tom staring at the place he had been while rain poured down and thunder crackled into the sky.

The storm was here.
