Season 2 chapter 34

"Is there a problem?"
Sasuke said sitting comfortably behind a tree in the forest. He knew that his daughter was behind him.

Akane huffed and jumped down from the tree. Her eyes board and unamused.
She took a few steps towards him and stopped.
After a long silence she uttered a quiet-"No." and leaned against the tree.

It was awkward.

"So what is the purpose of your appearance?" Sasuke almost slapped himself because of how untactful and harsh that sentence came out. He wanted to spend more time with Akane but  couldn't form a nice decent sentence. Before he could make up for it the red head answered.

"Oh ? Am I an inconvenience now?" She taunted the man making Sasuke burn in guilt.

"Excuse my poor choice in words I-"

"-Didn't mean it to come out like that because you're bad at communication? Yes I can see that." Akane finished the sentence for her father.She smiled laughing at how easily she could guilt trip someone said to be so 'emotionless'.

Sasuke flinched at her direct statement.
"I won't be here long I just needed you to tell me a few details..."
Sasukes questionably looked at her.

"I'm listening."

"I'm assuming you were aware about what was happening in the lab. I wouldn't know if that snake would let you in on the information but... how long did they last...?

The kids before me..."

Sasuke could see a hint of disturbance in her black eyes and each minute a growing rage that was hidden behind them.

He stayed silent and didn't utter a word.

"I have the right to know. When I first came here I transformed which should have been the end for me so what did they do to me?"

Sasuke didn't want to remember that time or talk about it.
"It's over now no need to think about it."

"Well I might as well go ask that snake Orichimaru then bet he would be willing to enlighten me..."

"Don't be reckless go back home and work on your assignments."

"Don't talk to me like you can order me around,when I said I wanted a family I was being ironic ,even a fool would see that." The red head laughed.

"I would consider that I am your family."  Sasuke argued.

Akane turned around to leave but stayed an extra two seconds to utter her sentence.

"No that would be a foolish assumption."

It was a long day for the group,as Sarada walked with her two teammates Boruto and Mitsuki they both looked uneasy.
Nobody had said a word after the mission,it was as if they were afraid to say something but Boruto decided to speak up.

"I went to visit Miya today....."

After a long pause the group looked at him.

"So how's she doing? I should give her a visit soon maybe I'll take Akane with me."Sarada asked smiling.
Boruto looked uneasy, he sighed and Sarada was getting frustrated with the building tension.
"If you have something to say,say it already." She huffed.

"She's not doing well...apparently she cut her tongue out." Boruto couldn't say the sentence without cringing, imagining the pain of the deed Miyumi has committed.
Mitsuki didn't look surprised it seemed that he had heard of the news.
Sarada was in a state of shock she couldn't fathom why the little girl would harm herself in this degree, what could've happened?

"About Akane-"
The blond looked at Sarada his expression only serious and filled with disappointment.
"-She was the last one to be seen with Miyumi before the incident."
Saradas eyes widened, was it all a lie? Was Akane acting nice an act all along?
She had a million questions and possibilities in her mind.
Sarada turned towards Boruto, she took her glasses off.
"So what you're saying is that my sister harmed Miyumi ?"
She didn't want to believe it because in all honesty she liked hanging out with Akane but if this was true then how Akane acted with her could be a mask.
Boruto nodded.

"There was nobody there at the time other then her and people don't change as easily as you think,not too long ago she was trying to kill her own father so what makes you think it wasn't her." Mitsuki said knowing well the true nature of the red headed devil.

Sarada nodded but thought for a bit.
"Do you have any other type of evidence to support that claim? We can't base our judgment on someone's past alone, that would be insensitive of us." There could be a possibility that this was a major coincidence that played out. Sarada wouldn't want a conflict in her household just based on assumptions without concrete evidence that her sister was involved in the incident.

"No we don't...but doesn't it seem suspicious?" Boruto muttered as if not trying to offend his teammate. "So you are just judging out of her past character? I'm not trying to be biased here but unless there is sufficient evidence even the hokage won't believe us,plus all types of nasty rumors are going around about Akane so what's the chance of this being true?"
As much as Boruto hated to admit Sarada did make a valid point.

"True or not,be careful because she's not the type of person she makes herself out to be.
~Well see you guys later." Mitsuki left.
Saradas left her teammates words in her consciousness.

Even if this was true , what did Akane gain from this? Surely if she potentially did something so drastic Miyumi would have known something about her that she would never want anyone to know....
But nothing came to mind....
Sarada huffed. "See you later Boruto."
The blond waved at her and they parted ways.

Back at home Sakura greeted Akane, she had made her some food yet she noticed something off about the girl today, it looked like she had no emotion her face blank and darkened, it sent a shiver down the woman's spine. Akane noticed the expression of Sakura and as if she had forgotten something she quickly looked at the mirror in her pocket and readjusted her expression. It was like a heater stopped working and started to work again, that's how the change in her aura felt to Sakura as soon as the red head let out a faint smile that looked genuine but felt odd. She ignored it and passed it off as her having a bad day.

"How was your day?" Sakura smiled at the girl.

"Not bad." Akane took a sip of the soup and grinned.

Suddenly the door busted open and Sarada entered she looked as if she was out of breath.
Akane raised a brow.

"Akane you and I have to talk !"
