A/N Hi. So... Ok I don't know where I'm going with this. Um, thx for reading. Moving on.

Percy POV:

What are you doing? You don't deserve to read what I have wrote here. You commoner.

Ok, Percy, you can break down that shell a bit. Let's try this again.

Hi, I'm Percy Jackson. Ok, great, moving on.

I am Governor Poseidon's son, the governor of Atlantic City and no, it is not at all what you think it is. Half of the time- no all the time- it's like I don't have a father at all. He has to deal with problems in the city and he never has time for me. Plus, the pressure to eventually marry some rich girl isn't exactly helping either. Oh, so, you thought only commoner girls were forced to marry?

Anyways, how I avoid marriage is to just try to be an arrogant piece of (insert swear word here). And the reason for that is so no girls will like me. Now, that sounds weird so let me lay some rules down for you.

Governor's sons can only ascend to the "throne" if they are married and the reason for that is so they will have an heir. You would think that having governors would equal a republic, but, no, we are as good as a monarchy.

So, the perk is that governor's heirs are allowed to choose their marriage partner up until we are 18, which is when we ascend to the "throne". But the thing is, both the woman and the woman's family and the man and the man's family, have to agree. And if a governor's heir doesn't choose a wife before 18, the governor picks.

I don't want to marry. And especially not a rich girl. You see, love ruins people. How was I born? Out of a damn wedlock. My mother was then executed for disobeying her parents and conceiving a child with a governor's heir. Fun. Note the sarcasm. I don't expect that to happen with me considering Father only exposes to governor heirs and rich "potential wives" as my father calls it. Also known as, dealing with rich, spoiled brats. But seriously, I don't think that dealing with those types are girls are fun. Of course, governor sons aren't as bad, considering that they aren't spoiled. And the reason for that is because we spend more time studying how to run our cities rather than spending time playing around. Again, so very fun.

So back to the arrogance issue.

I mentioned before that both sides have to agree in order to marry- before 18. And so, it should be perfect for my ordeal. Why do I have to act arrogant in order to delay marriage?

Because of Calypso, because of Theia. Allow me to expand.

So, we were all the summer solstice, Nico and I joking around as Jason conversed with Beckendorf.

"Attention", Zeus started, clearing his throat. "The meeting has begun".

The talking ceased all at once as Zeus started talking. "The structure of houses should be changed to create more stability since we have had a lot of complaints on that...".

I pretty much just zoned out for most of the meeting and I did so until I heard, "Perseus, Nicholas, and Jason shall be sent to one of the regions of Olympus. Which region shall it be?"

This was the tradition. Once heirs turned 15, they would enter a region of Olympus to learn the ways of the commoners and be a fair ruler. I saw it as the one smart and reasonable thing that the governors had done for their children.

Beckendorf had already went since he was two years older than us (he got Demigod City by the way. It's part of Zeus City) and that was where he had met his girlfriend, Silena, who he was dating in secret.
