Future Sonic Gen*** Book 1; Ruby's Story

Chapter 2

I went to an old friends house,to ask if he had any idea why I could track down the Emerald. I didn't want to ask Shadow,cause I ask him a lot already.

So there I was. I knocked on the door slightly smiling. A yellow fox opened the door,Tails.
"Ruby?!" He smiled brighter and hugged me,I patted his back. We then released from the hug.

"So,what brings you here?" He asked.
"I'm here to ask Sonic something,but...if you'd mind, I'd like you to explain me about this question too."

He nodded and let me. Sonic was sitting down beside Amy. They were watching a movie. I stood and there eyes faced me,"Ruby?! How have you been!" Amy ran to me and pulled me into a hug. Sonic paused the TV and hugged me too.

"I need to ask you guys something.... something important." They nodded and we all took a seat. "So,what is there to ask?"

"Today,I sensed the Master Emerald. And I was pulled towards it,I was wondering what turned it on."
Sonic rose an eyebrow,"what do you mean,what turned it on? It's been on this whole time. Hasn't it?"

I shook my head,"No,ever since my-"
I froze. Amy's eyebrows dropped down and smiled lightly. Sonic smiled,"your father was a good person Ruby."

My eyes teared up,so I fought against them. "Ever since my father died,the Master Emerald turned off. I've been trying to turn it on for months. Sadly,no luck."

Tails ,"Did you ask your siblings if they turned it on? Such as Cayden and Canner?"
"Well, that's the thing. Only Cayden can...I mean,I don't know if he can. But,my dad never gave him that role."

Amy questionably asked,"Isn't Cayden the oldest out of you 3? So why can you have the role but he can't?"

I shrugged,"That's what I asked Shadow. But he said I already know the answer,but I'm literally clueless."

Sonic chuckled,"Well,we don't know how it turned on. What about Canner? Can he turn it on?"

"Haha,no...he's mostly bat. He also stole the Master Emerald,I couldn't reach him though. Which brought me to you."

"What did?" Tails asked standing up.
"I could sense it,I want to know how come I could."
Sonic scratched his chin then he flew bright.

"Ah~ Knuckles was able to do that. That's how he was able to always retrieve the Master Emerald."
I smiled lightly. "Well... thanks."

I stood up and was about to leave, but Amy pulled me. I looked over my shoulder at him."It will be ok Ruby,We know you miss him. But, you gotta look at the bright side."

I pulled my shoulder back and crossed my arms. "I am. Don't worry about me,I got this." I left. And went home.

While my father told us stories,we were able to ask questions.

"Daddy,so...did the b...baby girl die?"

My Father and Mother looked at each other and smiled. My father looked back at me,
"Actually,the big green emerald brought her back to life. She glew opened her eyes slightly. And there she was, laughing in her parents hands."

"Wow!" I looked at my brother Cayden who smiled lightly. "Yeah... amazing..."
He rolled his eyes.

Knuckles stared at Cayden and squinted his eyes,Cayden looked down.
"Well,the little girl loved the Emerald. She played tea party with it,she loved to run around it,sleep on it,eat food with it. She love to watch it with her father,"

He smiled brightly,"She always sat on her father's lap. She watched the sky with him. Fought with him and did what she could. By the time she reached 3,she was into Make-up."

He rolled his eyes looking at mother. Mother giggled,"Sorry for stealing your little girl." Father chuckled and kissed her cheek.
"It's ok..."

I woke up and saw Shadow beside me. I smiled and gave him a peck on the cheek. "Good morning." I looked around and saw a photo of a women and him getting married. I smiled and picked it up.

"Ugh...good morning..." He said tapping my shoulder. I looked at him,"Who's this?" He looked at the photo. His eyes dropped and he smiled.
"Th... That's Maria."

I smiled,"So you were married eh? Never thought the 'Ultimate Lifeform' was the lovey dovey type."
He laughed,"Everyone thought the same about your father. He was so stubborn,never wanted anyone to be around him."

I giggled,"Well, that's nice to know." I stood up and walked off. He laughed.
"Your just like your father,but...your beauty is just like your Mother's..."

I blushed and walked into the kitchen and ate some grapes. Arora was sitting at the table watching me.
"Do you like, Shadow?!"
"What? No... he's just my teacher."
"So,you sleep with your teacher."
"I....he got in bed with me."
"Right..."

I turned towards her. "Why do you always got to pick on me?!"
She giggled,"Just keeping the family tradition alive...ya know,My dad always teased your dad."

I rolled my eyes,"Shut Up Arora,"
"Heh...might as well get with this immortal teacher."
"I DON'T LIKE SHADOW!"
"Yeah,you love him."
"HE'S JUST A FRIEND!"

Shadow walked in,"Yep....just a friend. If I dated Ruby, Knuckles would kill me."
I chuckled,"like getting in bed with me makes anything any better."
"You were in my bed,where was I supposed to sleep?!"

I rolled my eyes,"My room!"

I left and went to Angel island. I looked around and strangely,the Master Emerald was still there. So dull,so...so lonely,lost, confused. So...so sad.

I hugged the Master Emerald.
"Daddy,I wish I can see you again..."
