Chapter Two~ Arranged Marriage

(Third P.O.V)

It was a bright morning in the Imperial Demon Kingdom. The villagers were up and ready for the day of hard work, the children ready for school, and the royal family ready for the most important day of everyone's life. The current head of the royal family, Guren Ichinose was making sure everything was perfect for the important visit. The vampire Queen and her metaphorical son were coming today to check out the palace and talk to the family.

Guren was nervous. From this day on, how everyone acted would decide if the war continued or not. Today was a very important day for both kingdoms.

Hopefully his son acted right. Speaking of his son. . .

"Your highness, Prince Yuichiro is awake." A servant that worked in the palace told the King. Guren sighed in relief.

"Please make sure he gets fully ready, and send him to me when he does."

The servant bowed down before leaving. Guren slumped against his thrown. He was beyond stressed. He loved his kingdom, he really did, but sometimes, he didn't want to be King. Even if his son was getting married, it would still be two years until he became King, which meant two more years of being King.

Yuichiro was lucky. By the time he was crowned King, he shouldn't have to worry about any ongoing war. Guren thought.

"Yes, Father? Why did I have to wake up earlier than usual? Is something important happening today?" Yuichiro said as he walked into the thrown room, snapping his father out of his thoughts. Guren looked up at his son.

"Yeah. I didn't tell you earlier because I knew you would probably run away, so I'm telling you today. The vampire Queen and I had come to an agreement to end the war. An arranged marriage between you and her son."

At first, Yuichiro didn't say anything. He only stared at his father with wide eyes as he tried to process what was said. When it finally clicked, Yuichiro screamed. "What? I'm not gonna marry a bloodsucker! I'll rather die!"

"Yuu!" Guren yelled, making his son go quiet. "Do you wanna end the war?"

"Yeah, but there has to be another way. I don't wanna marry a vampire! And a boy for that matter! I'm not gay!"

"You sure. You've never took any interest in girls before." Guren teased.

"Thats-! Shut up! I'm not marrying a vampire."

"You don't have a choice. And plus, I heard the Queen's son is really nice."

"Doesn't matter! Why do I have to marry a vampire anyways!" Yuichiro shouted again, stepping ever so closer to his father with each word.

"You're my only son, so you are chosen by default."

"What about Shinoa? Or what if you married the vampire queen?" Yuichiro was now standing right in front of his father's thrown, anger plastered on his face.

"The Queen's son doesn't like girls and he would probably refuse if he is anything like you. And the Queen isn't interested in marrying me. We've already discussed that." Guren answered his sons questions. "Anyways, when they arrive, be nice, and don't call them bloodsuckers. The fate of our kingdom rests on this very important meeting and you getting along with the prince. Got it?"

Yuichiro grumbled in anger, but otherwise, said nothing, only nodding in agreement. Guren smiled his usual small smile. As much as Yuichiro hated vampires, he'll do anything for his kingdom, even if it meant marrying a vampire. And Guren knew that.

"Sir, the vampires are here." The head servant said. Guren nodded and stood up, patting his sons back and walking away, his son following after him.

Outside the castle was multiple carriages, vampires already piling out around them, talking to each other. Guren looked around for the Queen, but she and her son was nowhere to be seen.
