Saturday has never been more stressful in all of her life, but today had topped that. It was above stressful. Mal, daughter of Maleficent, was terrified of a immature in magic while she was naturally gifted. But all of that didn't matter now. All that mattered was that Ben could die any moment and it would be her fault he'd die.
"Mal!" Evie called from her desk.
"Yes?" Mal answered looking up from her laptop as she sat comfortable on her bed.
"Get dressed. Wear something flexible, remember what Audrey said? She won't go down without a fight."
  "Yes, I remember."
Mal shut off her laptop before she stood and walked to her and Evie's shared wardrobe. Mal decided on a white cropped shirt and a lace covering, black leggings and combat boots instead of her pajamas.
"I like it, cute yet active." Evie said beside her.
Mal turned to see Evie wearing a white buttoned shirt about two buttons undone and a blue skirt with see through leggings and boots. "I see you've chosen the same."
"Yeah," Evie tapped her blue nails on the dresser leaning against it, thinking. "Hair should be out of faces, makeup not to extreme."
"I'll braid mine. And then makeup can be natural, right?"
"That sounds great." Evie began to walk away before she turned. "Do you remember the plan?"
"Distract Ben until the school's festival is over with and new Annelise busy." Mal said crossing her arms and holding her stomach. She felt ill.
"Perfect." Mal saw her friends expression change from a serious look to sympathy. "Mal, don't be scared. We can save him, we're Mal and Evie for dying out loud! No one can stop us!"
"I only hope you're right. It's his life I worry about."
Evie wrapped her arm around her friend's shoulder. "Then let's not waste a second!"
The two friends exchanged a smile before walking out of the dorms to meet with Audrey by the school's entrance. There, the three would prepare for the biggest night of their lives probably. At least for Mal it was.
She never spoke out loud about her feelings often but she truly did love Ben. He showed her a whole new world, showed her love. Mal couldn't allow anything awful to happen to him. How would that repay him for all he'd done for not only her but her friends too? The nervous feelings of butterfly's returned to her stomach making her quisy all over again.
"Audrey I've never been happier to see you." Evie said when the three met up.
"Me either, believe me." Audrey answered beginning to walk. Mal and Evie fell in step with her. "As long as we don't mess anything up this should be easy. I looked at the guess sheet, there's over one hundred people there."
"Easier to distract Annelise." Mal spoke up.
"Precisely." Audrey said then chuckled. "You know Mal, you're smarter then I thought."
Mal was...offended in a weird way by that comment. "I'll take that as a compliment tonight."
"Did it not sound like one?" Audrey asked confused.

The enchanted lake was surrounded by their fellow classmates. Some dancing and talking, while others watched the sky. Mal was only interested in one. Ben. Ben was at a table talking with Jay, there weren't barely any tents set up making this even harder. Not to mention Annelise watching him like a hawk.
"So, there aren't like any tents and Ben is talking. Annelise is watching him. What now?" Evie asked.
"We can't give up." Mal told them. "We just need to keep Ben around the little amount of tents while the moon is passing over. Keep Annelise busy and away from him, okay?" Mal asked putting her hand in the middle of the three girls.
"Okay." Evie and Audrey finished putting their hands together.
And like that, the biggest night began...
