Mal stood from the chair in the back of the court room as Evie gave her testimony, concluding the court case. The Annelise file was officially closed. It was done with. Everyone could live their lives and celebrate graduation, even if it's two days late. This senior class made history their whole high school career and now ended it the same.
"How you feeling?" Ben asked Mal as the two climbed in the royal limo.
"Better. But, I can't help but feel like I should be there instead. I almost killed everyone Sophomore year after all."
"But you fought it. Annelise allowed it, she even admitted to enjoying feeling power instead of powerless." Ben told Mal. "With lots of therapy- which she'll have time for -she'll get time off her sentence."
"I just hope you're right. She doesn't diverse all the hate from people."
Ben held Mal's hand catching her gaze. "Why don't we forget about it, and focus on the now. After all, tonight is your first official night in the castle. That's pretty big right?"
"Definitely. I'm just nervous for dinners." Mal joked.
"Don't be. My folks seem uptight but they're really cool once you get to know them."
"You better not be lying or so help me Benjamin I will end you."
"Your in heels. Try it." Ben said.
Mal shrugged and tackled him so he was under her. She towered over him. "I never said I was gonna do it later."
And then the book ended on a short chapter
