2:47 pmI walk along the road. I'm still searching for Kara and the little girl, in case they're around here but there's a high probability that they went on the train. I've lost them, for now. Maybe I'll see them again, or maybe not. Maybe they'll make it on their own to Jericho. If they know about it. . .
As I scan around and observe the area I think back to my interaction with Ralph. He's a strange android, I don't understand him, which is odd. Sure, we androids have emotions now but we're still not human. We're not that complicated. . .or so I thought.
. . .
I went back to the abandoned house. There was no possibility they went back, it's too risky and the cops may be inside looking around. But I went back for the other android, Ralph. I needed to make sure he was okay and to tell him to come with me to Jericho.
When I got to the street, all the police cars were gone. Not one in sight. Probably using all their forces looking for Kara since she has the little girl. They need to get her back, as soon as possible. In their view, she's in danger with the android, but it didn't look like it. It looked like the girl was close to Kara. She definitely wasn't kidnapped, she went with her willingly.
I knock on the door. "Ralph? Ralph, are you still in there?" No answer. "It's the android that was here earlier. My name is Celeste and-" The door opens.
"Ralph did his best. Ralph didn't want them to get caught," he tells me. He has a knife in his hand, but his arm is down. His position doesn't indicate that he's going to harm me but I still need to be careful. He's unstable.
"I know Ralph. It's okay. They got away, I'm sure of it."
"Ralph doesn't want to let anymore strangers in. Ralph doesn't want any trouble. You should leave." He starts to close the door on me but I hold it open.
"But the humans know you're here. It's not entirely safe. Come with me to Jericho."He just looks at me for a few moments then slowly raises his hand that holds the knife. "Ralph, put that knife down. I'm not here to hurt you." He looks down at his hand.
"Sorry, Ralph doesn't know what he's doing sometimes. But no. Ralph isn't going to Jericho. Ralph stays here."
"Why?"
"Ralph likes to be alone. Go away now."
"But-" He closes the door on me. I knock on it again and again but he doesn't come back. "Alright, fine. Just, be careful," I say and walk away. I'm not going to force him to come with me, but I'll keep an eye on him.. . .
It was strange. Every android I've encountered wants to go to Jericho. It's our refuge. Our freedom. . .technically. That place is super dull though. I can't stay there more than a few hours. Simon and Josh are doing a fine job handling it but something's missing.
Another report comes in. Two in one day. That's unusual. I check it out. A noise disruption that's been reported. No one's supposed to be living on that particular floor. Well that doesn't necessarily mean it's an android. But it's on my way back to Jericho so might as well check it out.
If there's one thing I've noticed is that whenever Connor's at an investigation, it has to do with an android. Good thing I came to check this out. I see him getting out of the car with Hank. I burst into the side door of the building and walk up the stairs to the top floor. I knock on the designated door. "My name's Celeste. The police are coming for you. You have to get out of-" The door opens and a hand pulls me inside. "Woah."
"Did you say your name is Celeste?" the android says. I looks at him. A WB200, brown hair, brown eyes and he's wearing a cap on his head.
"Yes," I say. He smiles widely.
"You came to help me? The deviant defender! I don't believe it."
"I can't believe they're calling me that. All I do is merely help androids."
"What you're doing is amazing. No one else has ever looked after androids like that."
