Harry gave a long, heavy sigh before entering the store that day. No one could predict what would happen. Long hours practicing his singing while he was alone at home. Frustration attacks. Stomaches due to nerves. Loss of sleep. Sometimes it seemed pointless how hard he was striving to achieve such stupidity, but he immediately remembered Louis' sublime face, and what it would mean to him and seemed to be the most meaningful thing in the world. He spotted Louis attending a client. Waiter for him for him to finish his work and greeted him.
—You still want to do it? —he asked. His expression had a smile, but you didn't have to be a genius to know that he would collapse if he got a no for an answer.
—Yes— Harry said shy. This was not the time to back down.
Louis smiled, biting his lower lip. Trying to hide part of his enormous happiness.
—Come with me— he said, taking his hand gently and started to walk. They did not enter the small room behind the counter as usual. But they went to the back. To a deposit. Packed with huge cardboard boxes. They were stacked in an orderly fashion. One on top of the other. They were ordered according to the type of instrument and by different brands and sizes. It was a huge place. Louis closed the door as he entered and put the safety on it.
—So we can be calm without anyone bothering us. I chose this place because it is very spacious and quiet. The walls are very thick so no sounds are heard on the other side and vice versa. Harry paid attention and it was true. The whole atmosphere had been left in complete silence. The bustle of the mall was no longer heard. Not even in the distance.
—I also asked Megan and Cinthia to cover me for a longer time today. So we can enjoy the moment. You know, without rushing. —
Harry smiled. Louis was really working hard on this. He followed him to a couple of facing chairs that were further down the warehouse. Next to one of the chairs was supported a beige and brown guitar somewhat worn from use. He supposed it must be Niall's old guitar. Louis took it in his hands, sat in the chair, and placed it on his lap. Harry sat across from him. His hands were clasped to his knees and he trembled a little. He didn't want to mess everything up.
—Relax.—Louis's harmonious voice brought him out of his thoughts. —You will do well. Trust me. — The minor barely nodded, still quite nervous. —Let me verify that everything is in order. —He stroked a pair of strings with his fine, slender fingers, barely playing a few chords. Louis was very nervous, but he was showing confident to share that feeling of confidence to Harry so that he was not so tense. —All right. Are you ready? —He asked with a smile.
—Yes,—he said and quickly ran his tongue over his lips so that they were not parched, this action did not go unnoticed by the eldest, who likewise imitated the gesture.
Louis snapped his fingers. He cleared his throat. And he started playing the guitar. Soft and not at all forced chords formed a beautiful acoustic melody. Harry swallowed hard. But strangely the atmosphere relaxed him. He had never been so isolated from the world with someone else, he was always inside his thought bubble, alone. But now it was different. Peace and quiet in its purest form, shared with Louis. With his favorite person.
His Louis.
Oh ... life, is bigger.
It's bigger than you and you are not me
They both shuddered when they heard each other singing together. They sang at a much slower and quieter speed than the original song, but that did not take away emotion in every word that came from their lips. It was amazing how they coordinated without even trying to do it. Harry's deep voice merged with Louis' high voice. Was there something more opposite? Opposites attract. The contrast in their tones of voice was incredible. They started singing the song without looking at each other, Louis focused on the strings, concentrated; Harry focused on the floor, trying to understand and put in order so many new emotions.
