*Jeremy's POV*
Today's was the big day. And it had to be such a perfect day. I fixed my tie for the eleventh time in a row staring into the nervous eyes that my reflection showed.
I grabbed the wrinkled scrap of paper where my vows where written in my messy yet legible handwriting. I already knew it by heart, I was even able to remember how every single letter was written and how much space was between every word, but for me never was enough, so I tried to memorise it even better.
The vows were based in the ones we made when we were two little kids playing without a clue that the game would turn into a reality another ten years later. No, it's not that I have a prodigious memory and I can remember everything, it's just that some weeks after Micheal proposed (for second time, this time with a not stolen ring. Well, I supposed it wasn't stolen, I dunno actually) we went to visit his moms to tell them the news. And they showed us the tape of us getting married in the backyard. I'm not gonna lie, I totally forgot that happened, but in my defence, so did Micheal. Or at least that's what he said.
Anyway, where I was going with all of this was that I redid my vows basing my words in my young persona. That's what little Micheal would have wanted right? Was that also what Micheal did? I don't know, but I was gonna find that out any minute from now and my heart was bumping so hard against my chest. I felt like if my chest beat faster was going to break my ribs.
"How's going my big kiddo?" My father entered wearing a suit. Pride filled his words, yes, but that didn't help the fact that he just called me 'kiddo' the day of my wedding.
Instead of complaining or reminding him to not call me kiddo 'cause I already was a grown up I just stutter out a week 'great'.
"Good. Than let's go, everyone is already prepared." He beamed and I gulped taking his arm and following his lead to the little garden where we settled the pews for the guests and the altar.
When I stepped in, the typical wedding tune started playing and Rich started with his job of flower boy (job he had to fight with Christine for) and threw a bunch of flowers from his basket before I reached the big alter decorated with flowers.
But the flowers weren't the prettiest thing there. The prettiest thing was the boy standing there in a black and red suit, waiting for me.
I got in front of him and we interwined our hands, staring onto each other's eyes.
The priest, an actual priest that we got to hire, that was an old man an old man with pig nose, started his chatter. I don't even know how it started, because I got too lost in the moment. In the fact that I was getting merried with the gorgeous boy in front of me.
Than I realized how people was suddenly quiet. And looking at me. Even Micheal seemed waiting for something.
"You're on your wedding dumbass, you have to say your frickin' vows"
Right, thanks to one of the voices in my head to remind me.
"Oh, oh the vows right, so, so Micheal" I stutter, trying to clear my mind but getting cut by the boy in front of me, clearly as nervous as I was.
"T-that's my name, Micheal." He nodded smiling in a dumb manner.
"Oh really? I totally didn't know that. Micheal please, don't cut me." I took a deep breath and strated:
"Okay so, uh, I, I still remember how I felt when we were together as kids. When we had sleep overs, played video games in your basement, how you helped me when I was going through a rough time. You made me feel complete. Now, after all these years at your side, it's even more than a feeling of being 'complete'. Now, I think that without you, I won't be myself anymore. I need you to be myself. I think I've already proved enough that, if you're not by my side, I'm a train wreck and I'll even destroy the humanity without you by my side. That's why there's a vow, a, a promise that I have never broken and I would never break. I want to be your player two forever. For real. Because I love you and I need you to feel a human being."
Micheal made his grip into my hands tighter and with tears in his eyes and a big goofy smile in his face, what made me imitate his gesture.
"Ditto." He professed. I kept my smile, but I completely died inside.
"Did, uh, did you just said ditto? 'Cause if you did I'm getting the divorce."
"But we're not merried yet, so there's no need in getting the divo-"
"You know what I mean, Mell!"
"Heere-Mell in a few minutes" He corrected me.
"Not if we keep going like this" He started laughing. This wasn't going as I thought it would. Not at all. "Don't laugh! We're at someone's wedding."
"Sorry, I'm just nervous."
He kept giggling, what made me also giggle. Than Rich stood up in the pew where he was sitting besides Jake and threw us some of the flowers that were left in the flower basket.
"JUST KISS ALREADY"
"Rich, please sit down" Jake and Jenna had to pull Rich down, Jenna with just one hand, as she was recording the whole thing with her iPhone with the other one. Everyone was either really confused or laughing their guts at that moment.
"Now, seriously, you said ditto, I want the child I merried in first place." I joked, facing Micheal again.
"Okay, what the actual fuck it's going on? This is the messier wedding I've ever been. And I've been a priest for ten years." Bleated the priest, that was reminding silent until that moment. "You know what, by the virtue of my authority vested in me, I pronunce you merried under the laws of the state of New Jersey. I'm out now. You can kiss or whatever." He sputtered listlessly before heading out.
"You gotta admit, that evan I was a better priest back than." Grinned Micheal.
"Yeah right." I answered before our lips touched and everyone cheered.
"OUR SHIP HAS SAILED" Yelled Christine along with Micheal's mothers.
"OKAY, LET'S GO GET DRUNK NOW" Cackled Chloe, earning a "heck yeah" from Rich.
Yes, I gotta admit it. It wasn't such a perfect day as I planned in a first place. But, with my husband at my side, even the most imperfect and messy thing on earth turned perfect.
