Chapter 19

When she meant surprise, she really means it! It’s like seeing an elephant in my bedroom! I blew a smoke then threw it on the ground.

“What are you doing here?” Blake blew his cigarette like nothing had happened as if elephants as pets are normal.

“You’re smoking again!” She walked fast towards Blake, got his cigarette from his mouth then stepped on it in the ground, “it’s bad for your health!”

I rolled my eyes at her. “What are you, my mother? Or a doctor?” Blake said calmly but there’s a warning in his voice. He put out a cigarette then lights it.

“No, you’re GIRLFRIEND!” she again, took it and stepped on it.

She stared at Blake but he just look on his left, avoiding her gaze. This is a lover’s quarrel thing; I don’t think that they need some audience, “I’ll meet you guys later.” Just to be polite, I said that. Crystal looked at me, shocked that I am there but then nodded. While Blake, his eyes are telling me to stay. I just walked away from them for a safe choice.

“Not so fast, Bitch!” Brittany stands in front of me with Sophie beside her.

“I am fast, Bitches.” I tried to avoid them by walking to the other side but they blocked me again.

“If you think you can fool Crystal, well, you can’t fool us!” Brittany crossed her arms while raising one eyebrow.

“If you think I am fooling Crystal, well, you are a stool!” I said with low voice so Crystal won’t hear it. Fool-stool, that rhymes but it doesn’t make sense, but I don’t care! I walked pass them smirking; I will have some problem dealing with them.

“What?” I heard her say it.

I’m kind of glad how Blake treats her. First, I don’t have any experience in the boyfriend thing but when she threw his cigarette, that’s another story. Maybe she is the girlfriend, but she is just his girlfriend; she’s not Blake’s wife or anything. Stopping me from smoking will be like prohibiting me in using cellphones – impossible.

I went to my classroom and sat on my chair. I examined the room; normal day, Erika at my back – sleeping, my classmates – pissing each other, my guy friends – chatting while playing something in their tablets.

“Hey!” Jack called me.

I walked to them then sat at Jack’s desk, “yeah?”

“Want to play?” he asked while his eyes are still fixed on his tablet.

“Car racing?” I asked.

“Yeah” Will answered.

I looked at him, “Okay.”

“Good! Coz we need five members!” Will smirked at me and so as Chris. Then I suddenly feel someone is beside me so I turn to my right and found…Erika.

“Online game?”

“Nope. Tonight, in downtown Colorado Springs” Will explained for me.

Okay, I got it. They need my money to gamble “How much?”

“5,000 dollars is the minimum, but I want to bet in twenty thousand bucks” Chris looked at me with all his you-have-no-choice-but-to-agree look.

“I’ll see what I can do” I got my phone from my pocket and speed dial my brother.  “Hey um…can I borrow twenty thousand bucks?”

“What?” Ero exclaimed, “You just asked for a convertible car last week.”

“Well, my beloved twin, I’m just borrowing your money, mom and dad aren’t giving me a penny here.” There’s a long silence after I said that but then he ended the call.
