(So, sorry for not updating sooner, but lack of motivation got the better of me. I wanted to get this out so I didn't paragraph it, sorry if that makes it harder to read. I apologise before hand because next chapter is probably going to take a while to publish as I have only planned up to here. With all that said, I hope you enjoy the chapter!)
Frisk's POV
I inquire, "so, um, I know we don't really talk to each other, but, uh, what's your favorite food? I'll start, mine is Toriel's butterscotch-cinnamon pie." Something along the lines of a cough or scoff came out of her- 'their,' I remind myself, 'the least you can do is respect their pronouns.'. They had said, "you like Mom's pie?!".  Quickly after, they apologized, "sorry... if that sounded rude".  "That's fine, her pie is quite enjoyable thou-wait... did you just call her 'mom'?" ,they clammed up after that.  A long moment of silence followed, the only sound to be heard was walking.  As it dragged on, I begin to ponder if I said something wrong.  'Nothing I said could be taken as relatively offensive.'  Chara then spoke up, "chocolate".  "Huh?" ,I give a glance in their direction.  Chara restates their response, "my favorite food is chocolate".  "Oh" ,an automatic reply came out, "that's nice".  It wasn't the tone I was going for, as it sounded more dismissive than interested.  I don't think much of the matter though as we enter the chamber.  There, a tiny yellow flower with an unsettling face sits.  He states, bored, "whachya miss this time, a froggit, a whimsum?".  I shake my head, "just trying something new".  He laughs.  "But it's not funny" ,Chara sighed.  Closet questioned, but not asking for an answer, "neutral, aye?  Either way, I'll just leave".  As he left through burrowing, I thought I heard a sniffle.  Not thinking much of it, I wait for Toriel.  Out of nowhere a white pellet appears, moving too fast for me to dodge.
A sudden flash of jade-green and dandelion-yellow barrels in front of me.  Closet rushed underground, "well, it was worth a shot!".  The room was left dead silent, except for ragged breathing.  I look to the source of the sound to see my poltergeist partner collapsed on the floor.  My body rushes towards them, mind flared in panic.  I flip them to their back to see them clutching till their knuckles were white.  Chara's eyes were sealed shut from pain as they muttered foreign curses under their breathe.  'How did they even get hurt!  They're a ghost for Asgore's sake!'  Then, I hear a giggle.  It progressed into full blown laughter, and then beyond.  They almost sounded insane.  Chara then proceeded to cry and wheeze for air, almost choking.  I was at a complete loss, so I did the one comforting thing I knew how to do.  I pull them into a hug, and I was determined to hold on.  Almost immediately did they return it, grasping as if their life depended on it.  'Well, afterlife, but that's not important!  Wait...' I shift my hand.

'I can feel them!'

(Finally, I finished!  I am so sorry for delaying it this long, I just had so much going on at once.  I'm going to try to update often, but I will probably still be super slow.  My ask blog will most likely update faster, if I ever get any asks.  So you can go over there if you wanna, all you gotta do is put your ask in the comments and I will deliver!  It's completely understandable if you gave up on me by now, because I have too.  But I'm trying to get better, for you guys and everyone I care about.  With that said, I hope you enjoyed the chapter and good morning, or night!
