"Good bye Laurel!", Dad called to me as I walked out of my parents' two story brick house.
I stifled a sob as I looked back to see my mom watching me with tears in her eyes. I ambled on to my new smoky gray Camry that my parents bought me for my eighteenth birthday. I popped open the trunk and put my two medium brown suitcases in the trunk. After that I got into my car, I pulled out of the long gravel driveway. When I arrived to Sophie's house, she came running out with her suitcase.
"Hi!", she called with panting breaths.
When she hopped into the car with her suitcases, we drove off with a wave to Sophie's parents. When we made it to Grace College, it was night time. After we checked into our dorm rooms, unpacked our stuff while Sophie ordered the food. After we ate, we walked on one of Miami, Florida's finest beaches for about an hour. We suddenly ran into two girls.
"Hey!", one of them, a tall blond haired girl said.
"Hey! I haven't seen you around before", I said.
"I'm Bella and this is Martha", the girl replied.
"Hello", the other girl said shyly. She was shorter than her friend and had black hair.
"Do you want to walk with us?", Sophie asked.
"Sure", Bella replied with a glance at Martha.
So, the four of us walked down the beach and talked. I had found out that they were training to become vets as well. When the moon was beginning to rise higher in the sky, Sophie nudged me with her elbow.
"Let's go back to the hotel", Sophie suggested.
"Yeah, we got to go", Bella said with a worried look up at the moon.
After we said our goodbyes, we went back to the dorm rooms.
