Six weeks later, I woke up to breakfast next to my bed. That was unusual.  I had overheard yesterday that you only got breakfast by your bed only if it was a special occasion or it was your birthday.  I knew it wasn't a special occasion, so it had to be my birthday.

"It's my birthday!", I said and pushed Sophie with my hands.

When we walked into class, everyone shouted happy birthday.  I felt excitement rush through me as I sat down.   Mr. Tanner, our teacher handed us a pop test. While he was grading mine, I looked over at Sophie to see that she was drawing a picture of a Newfoundland and a German Shepherd.

"Nice picture", I whispered.

"Thanks", she said.

"Ms. Robinson has a 100% on her pop test", Mr. Tanner announced.

"Good job", a voice whispered in my ear.

I looked back to see Matt watching me with wide blue eyes.  They sparkled like a million diamonds as he congratulated me.

"You like her don't you?" a guy asked.

"Shut up", Matt hissed.

"You do like her",  he said.

"I said shut up Robert", he said louder.

I turned my head away with embarrassment.  Mr. Tanner looked up with a sharp ice-blue gaze.

"Is everything okay Mr. Roberts?", he asked.

"Yes sir and here's my test", he said.  He whispered in my ear.  "Sorry about that."

"You should be", I whispered back.

"Okay everyone turn to page 20", Mr. Tanner said.

After class, we went to lunch.  While we were walking to our table, Matt was watching me with intense dark blue eyes.

"Hey goo-goo eyes", Robert said and nudged him.

He was tall with dirty blond hair and blue eyes. He looked like a boy version of Bella. I was correct when he said, "Hey sis."   Bella just turned her head and smiled.

When we arrived to our table, a girl was sighing.

"This is Nicole Burns",  Sue explained.

Nicole had dark brown hair and emerald green eyes.

"She's new to our group", Martha said.

"Hi", she said. "I heard it was your nineteenth birthday. Congrats."

"Thanks", I said and smiled.

Just then the bell rang and everyone looked up at it.

"Time to go to class", Bella said.
