Sophie had turned around, but I walked onward. Right when I sat down, Sophie walked in with Matt.

"You broke his heart", she said with a look of pity towards Matt.

"Okay", I said and shrugged my shoulders.

Once classes were over with, I went back to the dorm rooms.  Matt was waiting for me beside my room.

"We have to talk", he said.

"There's nothing left to say", I snapped. "I have already told you that I only wanted to be friends with you."

"I know", Matt sighed.  He spoke up when I tried to push past him.  "Look, I'm sorry if I stalked you. I just like you and I know you know that already."

"I'll tell you this: I'll be your friend but that's it", I said.

"Okay", Matt said.

"I'm going to my room now", I said.

"Me too", Matt said and walked off.

"I heard ya'll", Sophie said when I walked into the room.   "I still think you two should be together."

"Well, me and him are just friends no matter how much you object to that", I said.

                                           ........................................................

After the last hour of class the next day, I decided to walk alone in the park before the next class period started. As I was walking, I heard a whimper. I walked towards the sound. When I stopped by a bush, the noise was overwhelming. I worked my hands into the thorn bush until I felt something soft and pulled.  The voice rose to a wail. I knew that I'd have to go into the bush, so I crawled into it.  The thorns were prickling and jabbed me until they were deep into skin. I kept on until I felt the brush of fur against my hands.  I knew it had to be an animal, but I couldn't figure out what type it was.  I had to save this baby animal before the thorns killed it.  I wrapped my arms around and began to slide it from under the bush. After I had finally gotten the animal out, I picked out the thorns out.  I wrapped a blanket over it and and dried the blood off of it. When I opened the towel, I saw the creature more better.  It was a white husky puppy. I gave it a piece of food and it ate it. I heard someone come up from behind me and I turned to see that it was Matt.

"Hi", I said.

I wanted to ask him so badly why he was creeping up on me, but I decided not to say anything.

"How did you find it", he asked.

So, I told him the story.

"Cool", he said and brushed the hair from his face.  "What are are you going to do with it?"

"The only thing I can do and that is to give it to the shelter", I said.

I brought the puppy to the shelter with Matt following me. After we brought it back, we went to class.

"Bye  Laurel", he said.

"Bye", I replied softly.

"Um, Laurel?", he stopped.

"Yes?", I asked.

"Can Jack and I join the group?", he asked.

"You have to ask Sue", I replied.

Later on that afternoon, I was told to add them to the list.
