Chapter 3 - Fear of Confined Spaces

Gahyeon dragged her feet slowly towards the kitchen of their dorm. She went through the small hallway, passing by Sua's and Yoohyeon's room and then Dami's, Siyeon's and Jiu's room.

At the end of the hallway was a narrow entrance point into the kitchen where her members were waiting.

They all cooed once they saw Gahyeon, her eyes still trying to open and still trying to readjust to the lights over her head. She told herself she could've stayed in her room, but denying Sua's invitation was definitely something she couldn't do. Plus, she was way too startled by the dream and the awakening she had after it that she couldn't got back to sleep.

So pancakes were the final destination.

That and hearing her members teasing her as she entered the kitchen.

At first she noticed Yoohyeon who leapt up from her seat almost immediately when she saw Gahyeon. She wrapped her arm around her shoulder and started making sounds as if she was going to eat Gahyeon, causing Gahyeon to cringe and wince in pain.

"There's my little cupcake!" Yoohyeon teased. "Om-nom-nom! I will eat you just like I'll eat these pancakes haha!" she started to bark near the end of that sentence, giggling all the way through.

"Ugh, please, stop." Gahyeon barely managed to let out as she was trying to get out her side-hug, however, Yoohyeon did not budge and shook Gahyeon by the shoulder a couple of more times.

"Come on, wake up, sleepyhead!" Yoohyeon insisted.

"Okay, okay... calm down." Gahyeon calmly responded and gave Yoohyeon a weak smile. Yoohyeon's smile on the other hand grew bigger.

Dami was sitting next to Jiu at the table - while Jiu was playing a videogame on her phone, Dami was solving a fun crossword puzzle right next to her.

When Gahyeon entered, they both waved and smiled at her, and then giggled when they saw how Yoohyeon played with her. Soon they went back to their own business.

"What's another word for "expansion"?" Dami would quietly ask, and without skipping a beat, Jiu would answer:

"Growth." while still keeping her eyes on the phone.

"Oh, that's right. Thank you!" she cheerfully acknowledged and went back to solving the puzzle. Jiu just smiled and gently rubbed Dami's back with one hand while still looking at her phone.

It was cosy. It felt all warm and cosy to Gahyeon as she smiled.

And then she finally turned her attention to Sua and Siyeon who also happily greeted her as she entered the kitchen.

Siyeon was playing One OK Rock, a rock group from Japan, on her phone, as she usually did. She was also singing along to it while Sua was helping her make the pancakes as the two stood over the stove.

"Gahyeonie, Gahyeonie, little baby hehey!" Sua loudly called out, causing Siyeon to fake-wince in pain, covering her ears.

This made Sua chuckle as she turned around and looked at a smiling Siyeon. They looked happy. 

And happily in love. Gahyeon internally sighed. She smiled and waved at them as well.

"Our little Gahyeonie is growing up fast, did you know?" Sua boldly exclaimed, causing blood to freeze inside Gahyeon's body out of shame.

She quickly went towards Sua to cover her mouth, but Sua didn't budge.

"She was having a.... She was having a hahahahhaha STOP IT, you little baby, you!" Sua protested as Gahyeon tried to cover her mouth. The two tried to move away from the stove as Siyeon continued to make pancakes, pushing them lightly away.
