The group sat in the living room of the Big House. Chiron had explained that he had just gotten a phone call from a man named Nick Fury. He was assembling a group of heroes called the Avengers and requested a group of demigods to help find Loki and get back an item called the Tesseract which he had stolen.

"I believe that Alex and Magnus should participate in this as they have had experience fighting Loki in the past," he turned to face the two Norse demigods. "Is that alright with you children?"

"Um, yeah. I guess so," Magnus sighed.

Alex ran a hand through her short green hair and nodded.

"I have also chosen the others that shall partake in this mission," Chiron continued. "Percy, Jason, Annabeth, Nico, and Will, I have chosen you five to go with the Norse demigods, find Loki, retrieve the Tesseract, and put a stop to his plans."

Percy sighed. He was sure he'd be free of quests by now. Apparently not.

"I'm truly sorry, I'm well aware that you don't want to go on anymore quests but Fury has requested some demigods to help save the world. And you have done it at least once before, most of you multiple times. There are no demigods here such as you, yet he has only requested a few. The rest of you may return to your camp activities." The demigods that were not going to join the Avengers got up and trudged out.

"Chiron?" Will asked, with a confused expression. Chiron nodded for him to continue. "Why did you chose me to go? Wouldn't someone like Leo or Piper be better? I'm not complaining, of course, just wondering why you'd choose someone as 'lame' as me over them. I haven't really saved the world before."

"Your archery and healing powers may come in handy later, you are getting quite skilled with that bow of yours," he answered, a small smile on his face and a glint in his eye. "Your healing has greatly benefited this camp, and many lives would be lost without your help. You have contributed to saving us all."

With that, Will smiled and sat back a bit, content with this realisation that perhaps he was more useful that he originally thought.

"Alright then, children, you must ready yourselves to leave, as you shall part at dawn tomorrow," Chiron told the group.

They said goodbye to Chiron and left the Big House, walking towards the dining pavilion as it was now time for dinner. They got their food sat at the Poseidon table again. The rules were often disregarded when it came to seating arrangements now after the war.

Piper, Leo, Calypso and Grover came over to them and sat down at the table with the others. "So what do you guys have to do?" questioned Leo.

"Take back the Tesseract from my mom," stated Alex. "I thought you were there."

"Yeah but what happened after we left?" he asked, exasperated.

"We were just told we would leave at dawn," said Jason.

The group sat chatting for a while. After dinner, they went to the campfire and taught
Alex and Magnus a few campfire songs. The group then parted for bed. Alex and Magnus stayed in the Hermes cabin that night.

The next day, the group met at Thalia's tree at the top of half-blood hill just before the sun rose. They had their bags, filled with necessities on their backs. They said their goodbyes to their friends and made their way down the hill, where there was a black seven-seater car waiting for them. The demigods piled into the car. Percy was driving, and Annabeth was sat beside him in the passengers' seat. Nico sat between Jason and Will in the second row, and Alex and Magnus sat in the back two seats of the car.

The group in the car had been chatting and joking. They all seemed to be in a good mood today, their spirits were high despite the dreaded quest they were about to embark upon. Percy turned on the radio and looked over to his Wise Girl, before putting his foot down on the pedal and they were off, on a new mission to, yet again, save the world.
