June Roses (DISCONTINUED)

Chapter 7

"Junie, I have somebody I want you to meet," Remus said suddenly one day at lunch. Lori and June turned to face him, their faces filled with food. Crumbs covered their face and clothes. June gulped her food down, holding up a finger to indict she was about to respond.

"Way to give us a heads up, Remmy. We look like pigs right now," June groaned and James scoffed.

"You are pigs," he snorted and June 'lightly' pushed him. What that means is she shoved him out of his seat and stuck his tongue out at him.

"Serves you right," Lori muttered.

"Anyways. I did give you a heads up, Junie. I'm going to go grab her while you lot, clean yourselves up," he said pointedly to the three boys. They quickly wiped their faces and started shaking crumbs off their robes, the girls doing the same.

"So, Remmy. It's a girl. Does Remmy have a girlfriend and not tell me? I feel betrayed, Remmy." June stated turning around and dramatically throwing her head up into the air.

"N-n-n-no! Of course not, Junie! You'd be the f-f-f-first person I'd tell! You know that!" Remus exclaimed, stuttering over his words a little.

"I know, Remmy. Go on, I want to meet this girl you seem so excited to show me," June said turning back to Lori and waving him off with her hand. He rolled his eyes and walked away.

Remus slowly walked up to the small group of girls and cleared his throat. The red-headed one quickly turned around and squealed, throwing her arms around him.

"Remus! How are you? Are you wanting to make a study date?" She asked brightly and Remus smiled, hugging her back.

"Yes, but not now. You know that girl I've been telling you about?" He asked and she nodded her head quickly.

"Of course! Who doesn't know who June Beauregard is? I don't know her personally but she is amazing! There's no doubt she'll be made Ravenclaw Head Girl!" She exclaimed and Remus smiled brightly.

"Well, I want you to meet her. I want my other girl best friend to meet my," he trailed off.

"Best friend? Hopefully soon-to-be-girlfriend? New study buddy? Wait. Remus, I swear if you're replacing me," she warned and Remus laughed loudly, shaking his head.

"No! Of course not! She's my best friend. Though, she would probably like to study with us-"

"Remus. I'd be honored to study with June Beauregard. I'd love to meet her, Remus." She said giving him a warm smile.

"Thanks, Lily. I don't want her to want to hang out with me and I have to tell her I'm hanging out with another girl she's never met, you know? Oh, and by the way, make it clear you're dating Amos, I don't want her thinking we're dating," he added shyly and she let out a loud laugh.

"Don't worry, Remus, I don't think I could ever like you as more than a study buddy. You're just not my type."

"But James is?" She pushed him roughly, her face turning a bright red.

"No! Just take me to see this girl already! Also, quick question, is June's best friend, Lori, dating Sirius?"

"No, but they like each other, they're just too stubborn to admit it. I think Lori doesn't want to feel like she's moving on from Magnolia too quickly. Apparently they were dating for like a year," he whispered and Lily's eyes widened.

"Really? Wow, I still can't believe he did that to them," she said. They had just arrived to where June, Lori, and the other three boys.

"Hey, Evans. Go out with me?" James asked hopefully and she rolled her eyes.

"No, Potter. For the last time, I will not go out with you you arrogant toe-rag," she said angrily. June snorted from trying to hold in a laugh.

"Junie! Don't laugh at my pain!" He exclaimed dramatically.

"I'll laugh at your pain if I want to," he pushed her out of her seat at that. She stood up quickly.

"You wanna fight, Jamsie? I'll owl your mother," she threatened and he turned pale.

"You wouldn't dare,"

"You really think I wouldn't, Jamsie? I'll go get Romilda now," she said, starting turn away.

"Junie! No! I'm sorry! Please don't owl my mum." He begged and June sat back down, seeming very content.

"Are you dating Potter or something?" Lily asked abruptly. They seemed very comfortable around each other but she also though that she liked Remus. June nearly turned green and shuddered violently.

"Disgusting, Evans. You think I would that pig? Or as you call it, that arrogant toe-rag. Besides, he's my cousin and I don't know what they call it in your family, but in mine we call it incest and it's disgusting," she said bluntly, Lily nearly laughed. Lori was laughing loudly.

"I love the nickname you gave him, Evans! You should hang out with us one day." Lori said.

"Call me Lily,"

"You can call me June if you want but somehow I got a nickname from my nickname. My friends call me Junie, June is now my formal name and the other name," she trailed off a bit.

"We don't speak of it," she ended up finishing off.

"Alrighty then, I think I'll stick with June for now,"

"Whatever you want, by the way, Remmy. You free? I know we have a test in comc, wanna help me study?" She said and he nodded.

"All you two is study! Siri! Wanna go to the kitchens and eat all day with me?" Lori groaned and Sirius perked up.

"Of course! Surely you know by now that I would never pass that up, my dear Lorraine," Sirius said and Lily's eyebrows furrowed.

"Lorraine? I thought her name was Lori?" Lily whispered to herself but Lori seemed to have heard her.

"Oh, yeah. My name is Lorraine but I go by Lori, Sirius here just refuses to call me by name for some reason," she said turning to him.

"Are you going to keep complaining or are we going to go eat?" He said and Lori rolled her eyes. June turned to James and Peter but they had already left as well.

"Do you want to study with us, Lily? You seem fun enough and everybody else have left," June said and Lily nodded sweetly. Little did she know why nobody ever studied with the two.

Lily P.O.V.

We were sat in the library at a table closer to the back of the library since the noise wasn't as loud. It would've been perfectly fine had the sexual tension between June and Remus been so thick it could be cut with a knife. We had been sitting like that for an hour and I was tired of the two being so awkward around each other.

"Oh! I just remembered I planned something with Amos today. Sorry, guys. Maybe we can hang out another time, June. I'd really like to get to know you," I said quickly. Of course, I had nothing planned with Amos I just wanted to get away. Either they weren't paying attention or were too busy reading to respond but either way, I just about ran out of there with my things. I double checked so I wouldn't have to go back to them.

I am so sorry for such the short chapter but fifth year is just horrible. I refuse to let Remus and June be together in fifth year so I don't know what to do with them. Also, I know it's crappy but these next few months will be kind of chaotic and I have writer's block right now. I would give up on this series like with Constellations, but I have so many scenes that I've written out for them and I literally love this personally. So, until my mind gets running again, you'll have to bear through the crappy and probably shorter chapters. Have a wonderful day!
