A/N Just so you know, (B/F) = best friend, and --- is a time skip. Also, sorry for jumping around on points of view.

 (Your POV)

For as long as I can remember I never really cared for people. Sure I loved my parents, but they weren't around often. They had business with several of the wealthier families in our area, and although I never knew what the business may have been, it obviously made them good money. It was also because of that, that they weren't really home for long periods of time. When I was young, they would hire babysitters but as I aged, I learned to be independent. I was awkward, and quiet throughout most of school, and I was often singled out as the weird kid. Being bullied never really affected me either, and more often then not, giving my antagonists zero reaction at all caused me to be ostracized more than I already was. That was until grade 7, when I met (B/F)...

She stood up for me, no matter the consequences to herself. She pulled me into her small clique of friends, but the only one I really liked was her. I looked up to her as a role model, and a sister, and yet when she abandoned me over a situation that was out of my hands, I wasn't sad. I was still loyal to her. I thought it strange that she could go from being my best friend, to a stranger in a matter of a few hours.

My thoughts raced as the morning sun kissed my cheeks. I rolled out of bed, grabbing a pencil and a piece of notebook paper off of my nightstand in one smooth movement. I try to think of how to word the note to my parents. They wouldn't be happy with me, but because they weren't home, they couldn't stop me. Eventually, I settled on "I'm headed up the tower, I hope to see you again some day. Maybe I'll be famous, and bring you lots of money. With love, (Y/N)."

I didn't bother packing anything. I'm not sure why, I guess I just felt as if I wouldn't need it. With that, I grabbed whatever money was in the jar beside my bed, about 75 dollars, and scooted to my kitchen. Placing the note carefully on the kitchen table, I grab a granola bar and make my way for the door, pausing just before placing my hand against the handle. I pondered for a moment, should I really do this? I decided that I should grab one last thing before I left. A framed photo of myself and (B/F) sat on top of one of the shelves in the living room. Reaching out for it, I pulled it out of its frame and smiled. I'll understand you when I reach the top...

          (3rd person POV)

(Y/N) tentatively shut and locked the door behind her, her (H/C) locks gently swaying in the breeze. She took a deep breath, savoring the sweet morning air before beginning her journey. She knows it's going to be quite a walk, but she isn't worried. As long as she doesn't run into anyone on her way there. What are the odds of that, though? She had already run into them once, and unless they were out to torment her, there's basically no way she could run into them again.

          ---

Just as she had thought (Y/N) hadn't run into them again. The day had come and gone quickly as she was lost in thought, and all that could be heard now was the rythmic sound of shoes against pavement. She could see the base of the tower now, whereas before she could only see the distant outline of it. It was far larger than she had expected, reaching up into great beyond. It was too dark to see anything at this point in time, but it didn't surprise her. What did surprise her, however, was that instead of a door to the tower, she saw the gaping mouth of a cave.

She didn't dwell for long, and after about thirty seconds of questioning, (Y/N) walked inside. Unsure of how long she would have to continue walking in the pitch black, and slightly beginning to wish she had a flashlight, she heard a noise up ahead. A pair of people talking- a man and a woman's voice, could be heard echoing throughout the cavern. It was just quiet enough so (Y/N) couldn't hear what was being said. She picked up her pace, hoping that these people were smarter than her, and had brought a light when she ran directly into a cave wall. For some reason, that was enough force to knock her unconscious and she laid on the cold, dirt and stone floor for about an hour.

          (Your POV)

I sit up, opening my eyes, and yet I can't see anything. I try to figure out what happened when I remembered where I was and what I was doing. Unable to figure out how running into a stone wall would've caused me to pass out, I start feeling my way around. Odd, there isn't a wall there... I continue on in a relatively straight line, moving swiftly, but holding my arms gently out in front of me. I'm sure I looked ridiculous, jogging along like that, but I needed to be careful if I'm ever to reach the entrance. With that thought, a soft glow comes into view from a small crack at the bottom of the cave's wall. Slowly, it opens for me, creaking the whole way.

I step into a massive room, a bewildered expression plastered across my face. Headon stands in the center of it all.

"Welcome to the tower of god, (Y/N)" I wonder for a moment about how he's learned my name, but I stay silent about it. I nod towards the hovering figure, and he continues "This is the first floor. It will test your ability, and it will decide weather or not you deserve to go up this tower. I'll start by giving you this E rank pocket." A small sphere appears in front of the creature. I approach slowly, still glancing around the massive room. Headon proceeds to explain what the pocket is and how exactly to use it. He explains the first floor a bit before moving on to this floor's test.

"you simply need to enter that cage full of shinsu, which houses the white steel eel. Pop the ball, and leave. You will then ascend to the next floor." Turning to face the cage, I'm greeted by an intimidating creature, longer than a 4 story building is tall. I stare at it for a moment, unsure how to proceed. I'll have to get past that thing and then back after popping what looks like a black balloon in the back of the cage. Without any sort of sword or weapon, this will be difficult. I'll have to use shinsu to burst it, but it most likely wouldn't do any good against the White Steel Eel... I'll have to figure out a way around it.

I must've been standing a bit too long, as Headon begins to speak once more. "Do you plan on risking your life here for a chance at becoming a god?" His tone is slightly snide, almost as if he is challenging me, or trying to convince me to turn and leave. I have no reason to though, and so, I step forward.
