The sun was shining bright that day in New Jersey, but the weather was not reflecting the residents' mood. Ashley finally found her way into the police department and asked an officer for help. She told him she had an appointment with one of the inmates. She tugged at her bracelet as she stood there watching people coming in and out.
"Ashley Young, follow me please," the officer spoke, finally.
She walked into the room and sat down on a chair, waiting for Tyler.
"I said I don't wanna see anyone!"
"You don't get to bark orders around here," a guard replied before shoving him into the room.
"Thank you for meeting me," Ashley said.
"Well it's not like I had a choice," her best friend replied.
"I'm going to get you out of here."
"I'm sorry I'm leashing out on you, I-"
"It's okay I understand, they blamed you for something you didn't do!"
"How could people actually believe I killed my own sister?" he cried.
"You're a good person, Tyler; the truth will eventually come out!"
"You're the only person who still cares about me."
"I will find out who killed Hailey, I promise."
Ashley and Tyler were meant to be best friends since the day they were born, they shared the same birthday and their moms had known each other for ages.
The last day of college before spring break, Ashley, Tyler and Hailey decided to rent a summer house for the weekend with their friends.
"I packed the food for the entire weekend, and we'll stop the bus to buy the drinks on our way," Hailey said.
"I'm glad you decided to invite your boyfriend for the trip, that way I can check if he's good enough for you," Tyler said.
"Yeah but don't be mean and patronize Seth!" Hailey said.
"Tyler is just looking out for you Hailey," Ashley stated heatedly.
"You know I'd do anything for my baby sister."
"I'm not a kid anymore Tyler...Oh and Tyler, don't even think about bringing your PlayStation with you, we're going there to socialize,"
"Did someone ever tell you how bossy you are?"
"Yeah and I told you not to call me that anymore." Hailey said before Tyler ruffled her hair and proceeded to carry the bags outside.
The bus ride was enjoyable. The entire group was listening to their favorite songs and making a bucket list for this weekend.
"Can you add skinny dipping to the bucket list?" Seth asked.
"Bold of you to assume you can go skinny dipping with my little sister" Tyler said.
"Hey I'm kidding" Seth laughed putting his hands up in defense.
"You better be" Tyler smirked.
"Tyler can you please stop patronizing my boyfriend?" Hailey said wrapping her arms around Seth.
"Nah we're good" Tyler shrugged as Seth winked at him.
"Hey Ty can you pass me a bottle of water?" Ashley asked as her best friend instantly handed her one.
Two hours had passed, as they finally reached their destination. The house they had rented was in the middle of the forest, and there was a beautiful lake next to it. It looked extremely beautiful like one of those summerhouses you'd see in paintings.
"Let's get this weekend started," Tyler said as they all got off the bus.
