Tyler was pacing back and forth in his cell, his parents bailed out on him, his friends accused him, and his sister was dead. The person he loved the most in this world was Hailey, how could they blame him for this? If only he hadn't thought of this stupid prank. Maybe it was all his fault, maybe he was responsible for Hailey's death. An officer unlocked his prison cell.
"Tyler Rodriguez, you're free to go," the officer said.
"Are you serious?" Tyler asked rushing outside.
"Yes sir, they found the killer."
"Who was it?"
"The house had cameras in the living room that could show who walked in and out from the rooms, one of the tapes showed you were last to leave Hailey's room, but we were able to finally hack the system and discovered there was a deleted tape, the killer wasn't smart enough to think we'd find it again,"
"Who was the killer?" Tyler repeated.
"Ashley Young. We made her do some psychological tests because she kept denying having killed Hailey. Turns out she's diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder."
"That-that can't be true the Ashley I know isn't capable of murder."
"She has a split personality disorder, and she can't remember the things she does when her other identity is present, we've looked at her family's medical records, mental illness is very frequent in her mother's side."
Tyler couldn't process the information his brain had just received. Ashley had spent all her days hanging out with him and his sister. They've gone through everything together. She cared for him, for Hailey, or at least that's what he thought...Ashley was sometimes the sweet innocent person who cared about her best friend Tyler, but at the same time, she was obsessed with him to the point she killed his sister thinking she could replace her. It didn't take long before Ashley took her own life, not being able to handle the absence of Tyler in the mental asylum she was sent to. He had lost his two best friends in a short period; he couldn't save Hailey from Ashley, and he couldn't save Ashley from herself.
