If you want to see your friend Cara alive meet me by the lake.
Was this a joke?
Cara was one of Ashley's close friends and she was also part of the group, she was never the type of girl who'd look for trouble, proving how odd this message was.
She jumped out of bed before running outside, she needed to tell Tyler about this. She searched every single room in the house, but they were all empty. She tried dialing 911 but there was no service. What kind of horror movie was this? They all just disappeared without leaving a trace. There's nothing left to do. She should obey the sender's orders.
She had no choice but to walk towards the lake, and to her shock, she found all her friends standing there looking puzzled.
"Cara you're okay!" Ashley said but they all seemed lost.
"We received a text message saying we should come here if we cared about Cara, but Mia is the one who's missing," one of her friends said. This made absolutely no sense.
"SURPRISE!" someone yelled and everyone screamed.
"Tyler?"
"I plotted this prank to scare you people, also I messed with the service but now it's all good, you can use your phones again." Tyler laughed and everyone cursed him.
"Where is Hailey by the way?" Ashley asked.
"She's in her room, I told her I'd kill her if she dares to go out in this cold," Tyler said.
They all walked back into the house laughing and waiting to see Hailey's reaction when she finds out what just happened.
"Hailey," they yelled going upstairs before knocking at her door.
"Hailey?" Ashley asked but still no answer.
Tyler opened the door before taking in the horrifying scene in front of him.
"NO"
They found her lying on the floor of her room, with a knife plunged deep into her midsection, and blood everywhere. Seth was quick to dial 911, as Tyler collapsed on the floor next to his sister, crying and yelling. Everyone else was doing the same, but the difference was that all fingers were pointed at Tyler.
As soon as the cops and the ambulance arrived, it was clear that Tyler was going to be held responsible for this.
"Hailey! No, please don't! DON'T LEAVE ME!" he kept repeating as the cops dragged him away.
Ashley was the only one who was sure that Tyler would never do such thing. Perhaps someone was hiding in that house. She wasn't going to let her best friend rot in the cell.
