February 23rd 2019It had been a whole week since I'd suspected Alesha cheating. Everything she did triggered a negative thought, like when she went in the bath earlier than she usually would, or she came home ten minutes late. I couldn't stop the thoughts appearing. They were hitting my brain like a hammer, causing an excruciating migraine each time.
I was rubbing my forehead from all the tension when the door slammed open. It was two in the afternoon on a Saturday, and Alesha claimed she was going to get her hair done. That was around ten this morning. Did that mean she was cheating because she had been gone so long?
My mind started going rampant with thoughts until she strolled into the lounge with five shopping bags. I sighed in relief.
"Look what I got" she approached me on the sofa with one of the bags. I was curious as to what was in the other bags, but that soon left my mind when she pulled out the black dress she had brought.
"Wow I love it, you gonna wear it next week?" I asked, curious as to why she purchased it.
"Of course!"
"What's in the other bags?" I sipped on my coffee, looking at her from the corner of my eye.
She fiddled with her fingers.
"Erm nothing much just some jeans and tops" she shrugged.
I smiled, but again I didn't believe her. Not sure what I thought could be in the other bags that would indicate her being disloyal, but I was sceptical anyway.
I was about to suggest lunch, but she rushed into the room announcing she was going to be out for a few hours.
"Well where? I was going to ask if you wanted to go for some food" it seemed ages since we'd been out properly as a couple, just last week was valentines and we just about sat down to a meal for that.
"Well I'm sorry Cade but I've made plans. I'll see you later" without even as much as a kiss, or an 'I love you', she made her way out the house and to her car in less than a minute.
She'd been out all morning. Getting her hair done and-
Her hair?
I rushed to the window to double check, she was still sitting on the drive. Her hair looked no different to this morning. She hadn't washed it this morning, and I'd said: 'do you not want to wash your hair for your appointment?'
Her response was logical so I let it go, 'no they wash it for you'.
Looking at it now, she hadn't been to have her hair done. So unless she had lied to just go shopping, she'd been doing something else behind my back.
Jumping to get my keys I rushed to my car to follow her. I was probably insane, and I'm sure once I got to where she was I'd be proved wrong and she would call me every name under the sun, but to keep me sane I needed to do this. So I started the car, and reversed off the driveway in the direction she had gone.
An uneasy feeling swam round my stomach making me feel nauseous. There was a possibility I was about to catch my girlfriend cheating, and I couldn't understand why I had all of a sudden came to not trust her. My migraine was starting to settle again, and my heart was like a drumstick hitting against my rib cage making an almighty thud in my chest. The closer I got to her car the more my chest felt like an enclosing room; the walls tightening together, and crushing my heart.
