"Ya sure you don't want to come with us?"
"I'm fine, thank you."
Shizuka bowed as she departed from the volleyball team as they were about to buy pork buns at a local store. If she were to arrive at her home any later, she would be forced to answer History questions. The thought of going through that made her shiver.
Her footsteps resonated while she was walking along the narrow road. The street lights gave her vision for the sun had died a few minutes ago. The sky was painted a beautiful blue, with stars scattered all over it. Only a few people are outside, ranging from students to workers to freeloaders. It gave her comfort, knowing that other people were around her. It would be impossible for someone to commit something unjust. The dark is where most inhumane activities are done. It protects them from the law like a blanket. The same could be said about money. If you have it, the chains the law has on you loosens.
Click. Click. Click.
The sound caught her attention, but she made no effort in trying to look where it came from nor what made it. It sounded heavy, and rhythmic. It was a unique sound. She reckon that it came from an instrument, for the reason that the sound she heard was melodic.
When she turned a corner, the sound was still present. This made her think about the possibility of someone following her. It was far fetched, but it wasn't impossible. The thought of it actually happening to her gave her chills down the spine.
Shizuka started to walk faster, and the clicking followed her rhythm. Although her stamina could match Hinata's, her breathing became erratic as she tried catching for air. She could no longer see people in the streets she was walking by. It was only her, and the person who was following her.
When she turned another corner, she felt a hand land on her shoulder.
"Hn-!"
"Argh!"
The anonymous person fell on the ground as they were unexpectedly punched on their chest. Shizuka stared at them, confusion and fear etched on her face. Her left hand was soothing her right. She tried looking at the person's face, but the lack of street lights in the area prevented her to do that.
When the stranger struggled to get back up, Shizuka stepped back, and pulled her cell phone out. She was about to dial the police when the stranger's voice interrupted her.
"It's me! Yahaba Shigeru from Aoba Johsai!"
"Huh?"
She finally recognized the white clothing the boy was wearing. The teal colors that came along with it was a dead giveaway. She remembered him as Aoba Johsai's pinch server. The potential that he had in him was brought out by Oikawa, but it doesn't mean that he doesn't need to improve though.
