"Here Omar. You have to eat something." Amirah said to me as she held a plate of my favorite dish, steak and potatoes. She has been trying for the past ten minutes to get me to eat, but I'm don't want to eat. "I'm not hungry." I reply plainly.

Two days ago, I was released from the hospital. I had a slight concussion, but I'm all good now. The doctor prescribed me some medication that would help with the constant headaches that I would get because of the accident. I messed my leg up a little, so that prevents me from being able to walk on my own.

Having to depend on Amirah, is not something that I want. She is a pregnant women, me being the man should be caring for her and our unborn child. I am at a low right now, which is making me feel less of a man. There is one thing that I need to do that will put me back in a good mood.

"I'll leave your food here. I'm going to the store, do you want me to get you anything?" Amirah asked as she stood up, holding onto the doorknob ready to leave out the room. "No. Just be safe out there." A slight smile appeared on her face when I said that. "Finally, you showed some type of emotion. Keep it up."

Quickly, she came over to me placing a soft kiss on my lips and of course I kissed her back. She chuckled as she pulled away and exited the room. "I'll be back." I nodded my head. I waited until I heard the front door close.

Once I heard the door close, I reached for my phone. I scrolled through my contacts until I found the the number to the jewerly store and pressed call. As the phone rung, I started to put on my professional voice. "Kristie Lee Jewelry, this is Marcie speaking. How many I help you?"

"Um yes. This is Omar Josephs, I'm calling regarding the 15 CT. diamond engagement ring I had custom made." "Okay, hold on just a minute. I have to find your file." "Okay." I could papers being shuffled around and keys being pushed on a computer keyboard.

"Okay here. Mr. Josephs your ring is finished and ready for pickup." Marcie says as she takes me off of hold. "Excellent. I would like to know if I could have my friend pick the ring up for me because I am unable to drive or even leave my home." I say in my professional voice. "We usually do not allow that, but only if the circumstances are severe enough. We do not want any lawsuits or any kind of trouble brought to our company." She replies.

"I was in a terrible car accident that left me with a slight concussion and a messed up leg, my doctor has put me on bed rest for two weeks. I really need the ring today." I explain. "Okay, but I will need all the information for your friend that will be picking up the ring. You know, just in case." She states. "I understand."

After giving the information to Marcie, I ended the call and made another phone call. I decided to call Jacob to pickup the ring and a few other things for me. Jacob was the most reliable out of the four so I choose him. I knew he would get the job done, unlike the other three who would fool around. The phone rung three times before he finally answered.

"Hello?" He answered. "Nigga don't hello me, trying to act like you don't know me or like I'm some stranger." I snapped at him, which caused a chuckle to escape his mouth. "My bad. Wassup?" "Can you do me a hug favor? Please." I could hear him sigh. "What is it?" "Pickup the ring from the jewelry store and my flower order."

"I don't know Omar, you know how I feel about that whole situation." Jacob said. I should have known this was going to happen. "Come on Jacob. I have already talked to you guys about this and this is what I want to do. Why can't you guys just support my decision?" I pleaded. "Alright, I'll do it. Just text me the addresses. I should be there with the stuff in a half an hour."

"Thank y-" Before I could finish my sentence, Jacob hung up on me. I was surprised by his sudden anger, but shrugged it off. I had more important things to worry about and his petty little attitude was not one of the things.

I sat in bed thinking of my plan and how I would perfectly execute it. The more that I thought I realized that Amirah would be back soon. I had to find a way to keep her out of the house for just a little while longer. I dialed Amirah number and put the phone to my ear.

Before she could even say "hello", I spoke first. "I forgot to ask you, if you could get me some deodorant and cologne from that store I like." I said quickly. "I was already on my way home Omar." "Please baby girl." I said to her. I know that no female can resist being called baby girl, it was something about that name that just drove females crazy.

"Okay. Omar, I'm on my way to the store now." "Thanks baby girl." "Mhm." She hung up the phone. So far, my plan was being executed well.

Ten minutes had past and Jacob had arrived at my home with the things I asked him to pick up. "Thanks so much." I thanked Jacob. He sucked his teeth and mean mugged me. "You're welcome." He said through gritted teeth. I huffed, feeling the tension in the room.

"Omar I don't think you should be marrying her." He said. "And why do you think that?" I awaited his response. "Because she isn't good for you and you know it, she just came into the picture three years ago. You are ready to wife her already? She doesn't deserve your love or the privilege of carrying your child or getting married to you. I can't sit around and watch you make the biggest mistake of your life Omar." He sighed. "I have to go."

Before I could reply, he had already left the room and slammed the front door shut. I knew this wouldn't be the end of this. This would be a continuous problem, that I would forever have because of one choice that I made. That one choice sculpted my life up until this very day and every day coming.
