.Goodbye Atlanta Hello New york

Today is the day I'll be moving from my parents house in Atlanta, into my own apartment in New york,with my abusive boyfriend Darren.who treats me like I'm a nobody. As much as I hate that I have no choice, he always tells me that I'm not going anywhere without him and if I do I'll be in trouble.which scares me so I just listen to him and follow along with his rules. As I packed my luggage , my phone began to ring, it was my best friend: Destiny who I've know for almost my whole life.

Phone convo:
Me: hey best friend what's up.

Destiny: I should be asking you that . your the one that leaving me hear all alone.

Me : oh come on don't do that to me. Your not going to be all alone. You know you can always call and text me anytime.

Destiny: I know I know but it's just I'm going to miss you that's all, but anyways I'm happy for you and I hope you have fun.

Me : thanks I hope so too, but there is never any fun without you. So you know I'll try and make the best of it .

just as I said that, I heard my mom who was down stairs say. " kelis hurry up your going to miss your flight !" I answered her back and said. " ok mom I'm coming now". As I said that I went back on the phone with Destiny .

Back to phone convo :

Me: Hello

Destiny: yh I know you have to go. So I guess I'll talk to you later?

Me: of course, bye bestie.

Destiny: bye love you.

Me: love you too.

Hangs up phone

I zipped up my luggage and headed downstairs. To See Darren standing there waiting for me smiling, all I could do was smile back. He offered to take my luggage to the car while I told my parents goodbye.

So I gave it to him and said thank you. I walked into the kitchen and saw my parents looking out the window at Darren.

"Mom, Dad I'm leaving now". They both turned around at the same time and smiled at me. "Baby you know we're going to miss you so much my mom said". "Yes we are honey" my Dad added. "I'm going to miss you guys too i said" while feeling tears running down my cheek. We all just laughed and had a group hug together. In my heart all I knew was that I loved both my parents and I don't know what I would do with out them. My mom pulled out and said " now get going you don't want to be late, and be careful you know how I feel about that boy". Yes mom I will thanks". It hurt me inside knowing that my parents didn't know about how Darren Treated me. I said my last goodbye and head out side to the car. As I stepped in the car and close the door I watched as my parents stand by the door waving goodbye. At this time I wanted to cry even harder, but I had to hold it in because it always has a time you have to leave the nest. I starred out the window for the rest of the ride until we got to the airport. I stepped out the car and took out my luggage,while Darren took out his. I waited until he was done and we both headed in side. We checked in and waited for our flight to leave. While we Waited I decided to listen to Deserve by Teairra Mari. It was finally time for us to board so I turned off my phone and went to get my seat. I sat by the window while Darren sat beside me . He held my hand which caused me to look at him. He smiled and so did I. He told me that he loved me and that he promises he's going to change.

I look at him and said" OK with a small smile". The thing that hurts me the most about Darren is that when I first met him he was the boy of every girl's dream until a year passed and every thing went down hill . It had times I would stay over by him, and if I didn't do what I was told ,he would hit me . He threatened. me and told me if I ever told anyone it would be the last time anybody saw me. Which scared me to death. After a while of talking about what we were going to do when we got there the both of us fell asleep. I woke up when I heard that we would be landing . Darren was still asleep I woke him up and told him to get ready we are finally in New York.
