A couple of minutes after this news had spread, SM Entertainment has finally released a full statement,
"Hello, this is SM Entertainment, We have looked into this situation and have talked to our artist Min Hyejin. Hyejin had previously gone out to Gangnam with a group of friends. She was using her vacation time to help her group of friends around Seoul and she used her time to teach them our culture. We as a company have to ask you to not jump to conclusions and to respect our artist and her friends privacy. If the reporter had waited a couple of minutes before taking the picture they would have realized the group of 6 people that they were with. Thank you for your concern. We will also be taking legal action against those who had commented malice comments during this misunderstanding. We sincerely apologize for this misunderstanding and we accept your apology for this misunderstanding and misreading of the situation. Thank you."
