Syaoran's sword butt slammed down on the button, his way of being ready for the unexpected. A few silent minutes went by without anything happening.
"Well, that was a load of-" suddenly, the crystal in the ceiling went dark, the doors behind his companions shut, locking them all in the room, and the water changed a glowing blood red. Then, the crystal shined light again, but not in the whole room, like it had been doing before.
It shined in a circle around the pond, magnifying the color of the red. The water then began to spill out into the middle of the room between Syaoran and the others, draining the pond. The puddle itself was about 12 feet in length. But then, it began to grow. The puddle rose without losing any length, forming legs, then a torso, and then arms. Once it was formed, a single eye opened in upper middle of the torso, and where the pupil was, was the crystal that Syaoran had inserted into the pedestal.
The creature reared its eye back and bellowed, a large beam shooting up to the crystal. The crystal spread the beam throughout the chamber, hitting multiple points on the wall. A few seconds after that, the doors opened, and pieces of armor and weapons dropped out. These were normal sized, for humans, elves, and other races of that size. Not a beast of this size. The beast then opened its arms out wide, and strands shot out from its fingers, grabbing the assortment of equipment. It pulled the equipment inside of itself, forming patches of armor all over its body. The pointy weapons stuck out from its forearms, upper arms, and thighs like guarding spikes, and the blunt weapons occupied its knees and fists. A dangerous looking creature.
Then, from the openings in the wall, came a goblin each. 10 in all.
"We're outnumbered!" Syaoran shouted, "but we're not outgunned! Aluin, if you have a multiple target spell, cast it on the goblins, Shauna, you and I will work on taking out the goblins! Reneé," he smirked and drew his dagger, "keep that big guy busy." He raised his short sword, then lowered it at his first target, a goblin holding a halberd, "Now, go!"
