Syaoran drew his dagger, even though he had a new short sword, his dagger would be easier to use if he would come to close to be seen.

He slowly pushed open the door, trying not to alert any enemies lurking near. The door led into a long hall way lit only by a single torch on the right, held up by a metal brace. At the end of the hallway was a large opening that led to a domed room shaped like a square.
Syaoran inched his way along the edge of the wall, to the opening.

When he made it to the opening, he peered around it he edge. In the middle of the room sat a table and 2 chairs. At the table were two goblins conversing, and a hobgoblin scanning the area.

Once Syaoran was sure they could see him, he made his way to the next hallway.

The next hallway led to a room similar to the last, except there we only a bronze brazer in the center of the room. All around the room were deep puddles and rugged boulders making it harder to move around. Around the brazer were seven goblins and a Hexer. Not good.

Syaoran did the first thing he thought of. Since goblins weren't the brightest, they often moved by sound and not sight. He picked up a small pebble and tossed it across the room. It landed in a puddle with a loud splash. All of the goblins, including the Hexer, all turned in the direction. They all made a silent agreement to send the smaller one to check it out.

Syaoran cursed under his breath. He hadn't expected that they would stay behind while one inspected it.

Syaoran decided to take a chance. He dodged between the boulders and rubble, trying to avoid it, when he kicked something coiled up. That's when it made a loud squeal.

And that's when Syaoran lost it. Rats, four of them, larger than Syaoran was, all screeched and turned to attack him. And that's when the goblins took notice. The Hexer gave a battle cry and they all charged at him. Syaoran stumbled to get away from the rats, but it didn't work out for him. He fell on his butt, while the rats loomed over him.

The goblins found him then. They were on him faster than the rats could imagine. Syaoran managed to raise his dagger to stab one through the heart, but bot before it cut right through his left shoulder. Then Jaque, his parrot, squawked. He squawked so loudly that it scared both the goblins and the rats, mostly because they had never heard such a noise.

It gave Syaoran the distraction he needed. He hopped up, kicked a goblin in the chest, giving himself an opening. He took off running through the hallway and past the goblins in the next room. The hobgoblin took a shot at Syaoran with an arrow, embedding in thigh. Syaoran cried out in pain, but kept on running. He barreled out the doors and closed them behind him, holding them closed. He panted heavily, "Okay... maybe coming alone wasn't the best idea..."

He turned and made his way back to the town, limping heavily on his leg do to the arrow, to where they decided to meet, clutching his arm where he had been cut. He only hopped that neither the blade or the arrow were poisoned.
