You were my favorite character from this twisted tale called life.
And with every page I turned, I hoped to see you dancing along through the words,
Holding out your hand ready to take me on an adventure.
We fought dragons and saved princesses.
We explored jungles and sailed seas,
riding on the hope of your words.
We left ink on the sidewalk and empty pens in the fields.
The words of our story were painted all over town,
In the color of a promise only we could see.
