Tom's Day Off P.1

Tom was still fast asleep in his bed far past his alarm's normal hour of a beep fest. Feeling so unbothered, he just kept snoozing away. The Nooklings were already out to work and the whole house was silent.

Bliss..

The island, on the other hand, was quite lively. Isabelle had just finished her announcements, the villagers were watering flowers and doing morning yoga, and Redd had just come out of his new house. A fresh, crisp smell of morning dew still surrounded the island. Redd had changed into some greyish-black drawstring sweatpants that had golden strings with a olive green hanten that Tom had gifted to him for his birthday many years back. It felt so good to change out of his business clothes, he felt like he too finally could relax after a constant work grind. Despite that nice feeling, Redd wanted to do a lot of work for the island today.

Mazzi turned around to be welcomed by Redd. "Hey, cuz! Do you have any work on the island that needs to be done?" He asked with a small tilt of his head.

Mazzi looked away for a moment. "Why?" She asked while looking back. Redd shrugged, "I just wanna help around, seems like you're the only one actually working on the looks portion of it all besides Nook." Redd explained, only for Mazzi to peak an eyebrow up. "Are you wanting to help to get on Tom's good side?"

Redd shook his head, "Its a nice bonus, but no. I live here too now, ya know? So I should help out too." He explained again with a wag of his tail. She didn't exactly trust that, but it checked out. Mazzi reached into her pocket and pulled a list out, folding it in half then ripping the bottom half off. "Here's half of my list of my goals today, if you finish them all please come find me to give the materials and such back." She explained then handed a shovel to Redd. "You'll need this."

Redd took it into his hand and read through the list.

-Gather Iron Nuggets
-Gather Wood
-Find all fossils
-Find the golden peek
-Find all seashells
-Find DIY Bottle

Redd shrugged. "Seems easy enough." He mumbled before folding the list and putting it into the inside pocket of his hanten. "If you get those all done, Ill let you keep the bells from the peek, so do that last so you can bury them back and get more." Mazzi dealed, which seemed to make Redd happy. "Will do!" He said with a smirk before turning around and wondering towards the beaches. Then the forest area, then he went searching for the fossils which didn't take that long. Surprisingly, Redd was able to complete it all within a short amount of time.

"Mazzi!" He chimes out to the rep, who was giving gifts out to the villagers she actually liked. "Hm?" She let out before turning to Redd. "Oh, hey. You're done already?" She asked. Redd nodded and handed everything over to her, "Yep! It wasn't that hard, actually. Quite fun if I say so myself." Redd answered with a way of his tail.

Damn fox..
Mazzi huffed and took everything back besides the shovel. "Whatever, thanks I guess. Go find your bells and keep the shovel. It's almost up anyways."

Redd grinned and went off to go back to the peek. He dug it out, just to bury it back next to his home. The poor shovel really was on its last legs since it broke right after. "Hm, fortunate!" Redd chuckled. He didn't want to keep the shovel anyways.

"Those are for the rep, you know." A familiar voice pointed out.

Redd turned around to see Tom there. Poor thing still looked quite exhausted. Maybe he was, or maybe the mask around his eyes sort of enhanced his tired eyes. "Oh, you're awake." Redd started, "Thought you would never wake up." He teased with a laugh. "I did some work for the Rep, she said I could have these in return. Not sure why I was supposed to bury them though.."
