Date Night!

I'm sorry for the late update ;; I lost track of time playing Minecraft pfft. Long chapter as an apology! I also have RPs open again so feel free to pm me if you're interested :] )

The two of them had finally confessed their love, and they were official again. It was a feeling Redd missed more than anything. He felt guilty for so long and now he could finally enjoy Tom's company again. The two happily spent a few weeks together to help them warm back up to each other and to the whole "dating" deal.

Although Redd went through a few people here and there after the breakup, he never felt truly in love with anyone but Tom. Despite that, he still needed time to warm into the relationship behavior.

Redd felt like he was in heaven. He had Tom back and he was snuggled to his chest, he felt like he had a little family with him now since the twins were in the picture, he finally had a stable income, and he gained a few friends on the way. It just felt like Tom was a good luck charm for him.

Well, culturally speaking that is quite literally what a Tanuki is but that's besides the point.

From everything between the pure joy he felt and Tom's gentle humming, Redd slept like a kit. So much so that in the morning when Tom had to get up for work it was nearly impossible to get up without waking him since he was holding him so close. Tom had to call Isabelle to open up for him instead.

A heavy sigh fell from Tom as he turned his head to look at Redd. Redd was still snoozing away..

It took a few tries, but eventually Tom was able to squirm out of his grip. It was silent in the house while Tom started to get ready for the day.

Everyone must be sleeping, yes?
Tom thought to himself as began to undress so he could take a quick shower. The nice warm shower always woke him up and relaxed him at the same time. It was a good way to start off the day.

"Why do you have to get up so early?" Redd asked from the doorframe which caused Tom to flinch and yelp. Good thing he had that towel around.

"What are you doing? Don't you know how to knock?" Tom spat angrily towards him.

Redd snickered, "Don't pretend I haven't seen you undressed before, cutie." He teased with a small poke to Tom's stomach. In response, Tom moved his arms across his stomach.

Once Redd took a step forward, Tom held one hand out to rest it against his chest. "What do you want?"

"Can I not just hold my boyfriend and tell him I love him?" Redd said innocently with his hands up. Tom's cheeks visibly flustered to the label he wasn't quite used to yet as he slowly dropped his hand. The second Redd got the chance, he placed both hands on Tom's hips and pulled him closer until the two were pressed up against each other. "Redd.." Tom mumbled softly.

"Relax, no funny stuff, I promise." Redd reassured before he carefully moved his face into Tom's neck enough to press soft, showering kisses to the side of it. Tom carefully rested his hands on Redd's shoulders and slightly tilted his head to give him room, gently biting down on his tongue."It bums me out how insecure you are sometimes, y'know?" Redd started then moved his head out from against Tom's neck to look him in the eyes.

"Hm?" Tom let out questionably.

"Don't think I haven't noticed how much you try to hide your stomach from me." Redd explained as he moved one hand off of Tom's hip to gently squish at his stomach. "It's cute, honestly. Anyone who has told you otherwise is a liar."

Tom laughed a bit, "No one had told me that, I just feel that way.."

"Well stop it!" Redd whined with a aggravated flick of his tail. "It's cute! You have like a dad bod going on and it's adorable. Muscular, but squishy is all the right places." He added with a grin as he moved his hand behind Tom.
