Chapter 3. Meeting Someone New.

~third person's POV~

You both stare at the two figures. It seems like decoration but you both know that it's not decoration. They're moving and talking to each other.

One of them stares at both of you intensely. There's one with purple clothes and one with yellow clothes. You wonder if the colors represent feelings.

Nathan softly kisses the top of your head to assure you everything is fine. You feel your face heat up because of it.

You whisper to Nathan "I felt that you know, dummy."

"W-what? F-felt what?" Nathan replies shakily. "That kiss~" you whisper.

You felt him kiss your forehead again. "Like that?" Nathan whispers back. "Mhm!" you say.

You kind of want him to do that again, but you're too shy.

Nathan lets go of you and looks at one of the skeletons. He looks a bit scary in your opinion.

One of the skeletons says, "Who are you guys and how did you find this place?" you reply "I saw it when Nathan and I were walking to school." you then, gesture towards Nathan.

The skeleton in the yellow says, "Uhh..what's this thing called 'school' you talk about?" you both looked at him with shock. "You don't know what school is?" Nathan replies. "No? Are we supposed to?" says the one in purple.

"Well," you start saying, "Can you introduce yourselves? Then he and I will introduce ourselves." "Uh..sure!" says the one in yellow.

"I'm Dream and that is Nightmare." says the one in yellow. He gestures to the one in purple.

"Ah, ok. I'm Y/N and that's Nathan," you say.

"so...uh...Nightmare and Dream? What is this tree?" Nathan asks. Dream responds, "This is the tree of Magic or Yggdrasil. If you put your hand on the darker side of the tree you will feel the emotion of sadness and despair while if you put your hand on the brighter side you will experience the feeling of joy and happiness."

"Oh! Thanks for explaining that to us Dream!" you say politely. Dream gives you a warm, reassuring smile. You smile back.

You look up at Nathan, who looks jealous. You chuckle to yourself. Nathan looks down and winks at you. You feel your face get a bit hot.

"What's that?" Nightmare asks. Nathan replies "A wink? Do you not know what a wink is?" Night replies no. "O-oh. I can teach you!" you offer politely. Nightmare nods yes and his cheeks look dusted with lavender.

You smile warmly at Night. He smiles back.

"U-Uh...Y/N? Do you know how to make an origami swan?" Night asks. "Or a crown? Or a heart??" Dream continues. "U-Uh. Yeah I do! Why? Would you like me to teach you?" you reply. They both nod and thank you. You then see that Night's cheeks look a deeper purple and smile.

You set down your bags and get some snacks out for them to try. You give Night a bag of chips and you give Dream chocolate. They start eating and enjoy their food. You smile at them and they smile back as thanks.

~Nathan's POV~

They both looked like they're having the time of their lives. It's cool though. Like, talking skeletons? It's pretty cool in my opinion.

I always wondered if there are things that can talk that normally don't, and I found my answer. It was Y/N who found the answer.

They finished their food and thanked Y/N.

Y/N smiled at them and gave them water. She's good at helping people. That's one of the reasons I love her. She's just amazing.

We all saw a light flash by us but we didn't think it would be dangerous. So we thought nothing of it. We were having a great time.

Sadly, it was late and Y/N and I had to go. So we said our good-byes and went on our merry ways. I was kinda glad because I don't like sharing Y/N with anyone. So yeah. As Y/N and I were walking back, I noticed something in the corner of my eye. Something...uh...bright. It flashed me a couple of times.

"Uh...Y/N? I keep seeing flashes of brightness. And I think there might be something behind us." I whispered to Y/N. Y/N hugged me tight and I hugged back. "There's nothing to be afraid of," I assured Y/N to make her more comfortable.

I looked back and saw another bright flash. Suddenly, I saw another flash and then something from the darkness jumped out at us. We both screamed in fear.
