It was midday and the city was bathed in shades of grey and neutrals, the sky was shielded by dense cumulus clouds, concealing i'ts true form and so was Keith's mind, in his case with his recurring jumbled up thoughts and hallucinations. Apart from the usual he had no idea that an unexpected surprise was coming his way.

"what's up with the face, still thinkin' bout er'?" Wilson asked

"nay, I'm thinking about re marrying"

"what ! but you said it was pointless" Wilson almost fell out of chair holding on to the table at the last second for his dear life.

"Let me repeat myself, I said thinking not deciding" he corrected

"that doesn't make any sense it means ya still considerin' it, now get that bartender yonder there"

"ah fuck man cut the fake accent" Keith added, annoyed he motioned to the bartender for another drink.

An unfamiliar person rose from the bar crowd and started walking towards them

A lady dressed in a black neck high sweater and black leather jeans approached us in the bar today. She had piercing dark blue eyes and blonde hair tied up in a bun. For a second I thought I got lucky and the universe had given me a second chance at love but then I remembered my messy past I had recalled from reading journals this morning. I thought to myself I was being a delusional brat who had no chance with a gorgeous lady like her. She introduced herself as Audrey, she approached us for no specific reason other than checking me out, man I was shocked for a minute, I believe  Wilson was shocked too. We ended up exchanging numbers. My judgment says that she wanted sex, and that seems convenient for me at the moment. I introduced myself as a man with a deteriorating brain, surprisingly the woman had no issue with it.

Back at home Keith would attempt to prepare dinner for Olivia and himself. He had long forgotten the recipe so Olivia provided a helping hand. The father daughter duo prepared beef burgers which they ate while watching the avengers. They had a chat about school, Katherine, and the movie. The specific scene in the movie showed two superheroes fighting against each other, all of a sudden Keith could not make out their faces which had turned into monsters by a few seconds, they were bloody eyes , pale skinned entities who were chanting something at Keith. He made up an excuse for water and rushed to the kitchen to grab his antipsychotic medication. The phone started ringing but Keith could not pay attention to what was happening in reality so he ignored it and chugged down his medicine with water.

"Oh my god! Olivia you startled me" he reacted to the sudden appearance of his daughter

"Some Audrey's on call" she commented holding out his phone

He wasted no time snatching the phone out of her hands and pretending to sound like it was a customer all the while explaining Audrey his current situation over text.

"yes ma'am, you will receive your parcel in five working days"

Audrey played along. When Olivia was out of sight they made a plan to meet at his house late at night.

Audrey visited at 12 in the night when Olivia was already asleep, Keith invited the new guest inside and offered her a drink. After a short chit chat he led her into his room. In her mind it was a complete different story and she was not expecting what he did next.

He locked the door behind him and pulled her in for a kiss, Audrey resisted and he backed up immediately.

"what's the matter?" he paused looking confused "isn't this what you're here for?"

"I think you have a wrong idea Keith, I'm here to get to know you, this is like a date, not a make out session"

"get to know me? what kind of a joke is this?" he asked, confused and startled

"yes, I want to get to know you"

"me?" he laughed

she was convinced that she could make it work with him while Keith thought she was being pure delusional and naive. The encounter had ended awkwardly with Audrey promising Keith a holistic and romantic future while him not being so sure about it. He told her he would think about it. The interaction ended with awkward silence and a hug.
