'I'm always running away from someone or something. But I've gotten nowhere.' ~Unknown.
I opened my eyes and saw the white ceiling. Again? This is the second time I have collapsed from running and then waking up in either the hospital or infirmary. I tried to sit up but I was so weak.
"You're awake!" I turned my head sharply trying to find the source of the voice. Nolan.
"Oh hey," I tried to say but my voice was so scratchy and hard to understand. He handed me a glass of water and I tried to hold it but it fell on the floor and broke.
"I'm sorry," I apologized.
"It's okay," he said and he helped me drink some water.
"Thank you," I smiled at him.
"I'm sorry for making you take care of me," I apologized again.
"You're sorry? Why don't you be sorry towards your own body and take care of it first before you apologize to me!" He scolded. I knew I deserved it so I didn't say anything until he was done.
"How could you run so much. FIghting Telios probably already took more than half of your energy if not all to beat him Theria. And then you go to the track, the 500 meters track and you run 25 rounds?
How could you be careless? Why didn't you just stop, take a break, and run again the next day! Do you know you have been knocked out cold for the fifth day now? Telios thought it was his fault for making you fight him after an entire day of learning and practising.
He stayed here without eating or drinking much, the only time he left was this morning. I practically dragged him to his room and locked him in there with a bunch of food and a few jugs of water. Why would you worry all of us like that?" he ranted.
When he was done, he asked "Are you okay?" he finally asked in concern. I smiled at him, nodded, and turned back to face the ceiling. Even now if I had no energy, my thoughts were running.
"Who brought me here?" I asked him after a silence.
"I did. I was going to the track to take a short job because I was restless and I saw you laying on the concrete passed out." I turned my body and looked at him.
"Can I ask you for a favor?"
"Anything," he said.
"Next time, when I run too much and faint or anything and you are the first one to find out, don't tell anyone. Especially Telios."
"You think I told him? I was with you at the infirmary waiting for you to wake up for an entire night until Telios called me. He said he went into your room but you weren't there and since you and I were the closest, he thought you would be with me, of course I had to tell him Theria."
Oh, what was I supposed to say? I shut my mouth and turned back to the ceiling.
"Thank you," I whispered. He didn't say anything but just smiled. We stayed like that for a while until the door burst open. It was Telios followed by Liam.
"Are you okay?" Telios asked, putting his hand on my forehead.
"Do you need anything? Water? Food? Towel? Clothes?" He was going to continue until he saw the look on my face.
"Sorry." I seriously don't get this guy, it wasn't even his fault yet he apologizes and worries over me. I sighed "Stop apologizing it wasn't even your fault!"
"Sor-" he stopped and smiled diffidently when he saw my glare.
"Are you feeling better?" Liam asked. He and Nolan were so quiet that I even forgot they were in the room. I faced him and answered
