Broken Book 2: Lucy's Return

Chapter 10

The battlefield erupted in flames, melting headstones, setting trees on fire, and sending nearby guild members into anguish. "Natsu! You have to calm down!" The Master shouted, but Natsu's flames only grew hotter causing the guild members to scream out in pain. His flames spread further and continued to grow hotter as he cried out in agony. "We have to do something!" Erza shouted, Gray tried to do his ice magic, but it quickly evaporated into steaming water. Wendy did all she could in protecting all the nearby guild members. Suddenly there was a soft white light followed by a gentle voice calling out to Natsu. "Natsu." She giggled." Gaining Natsu's attention. "Oh Natsu. What're you doing my silly dragon?" The flames slowly began to dissipate, and Natsu's eyes filled with tears. The guild pulled themselves together and approached Natsu with caution, still feeling immense heat rolling off his body. "Luke did you do this?" Erza asked under her breath. The guild looked ahead in shock. It was Lucy! She walked slowly towards Natsu and wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tightly. His legs immediately gave out taking them both down together. He shakily reached out to touch her face but stopped short, he was afraid that if he touched her she would disappear. She grabbed his hand and put it on her cheek, tears streaming down her face. "It's really me Natsu, I'm really here." She giggled as her tears poured faster. "How is that possible?" Luke interjected as he stepped closer. "I'd only meant to summon a copy to calm Natsu down, but I can sense that, that  is really you." Luke looked at Lucy in disbelief. "Sorry dear brother, to have hijacked your spell like this, I just couldn't bear to feel Natsu in pain like that. It's only temporary though." She looked at Natsu sadly as he hugged her tightly. "I have to go Natsu, but it's not forever 'cause you're gonna save me; right?" Natsu nodded his head rapidly, wiping the tears from his eyes. "You're my hero, my silly little Dragon. I've always believed in you, and I'll always be waiting for you." She leaned in towards Natsu, turning his face so she could look him in the eyes, and smiled leaning in further giving him a gentle, deep kiss on the lips. After he kissed her back she began to disappear. Just as the light began to fade out there was a soft giggle. "I'm waiting silly dragon."
