Household Shuffle
"Listen, every Sunday night we report on the observations we've made of each other. Since your apart of our group now, you'll be joining us," #82's voice was as cool and stern as always.
"It's nothing to be nervous about. Think of it like girl talk or something," #79 tried to comfort someone unbothered.
"It's buisness. Sunday night calls are very important. Don't stray from the topic. Not even once," The Server says.
"I doubt you'd be capable of that," Gossip Girl replied.
Nevertheless, she was curious as to what the calls would be like. The thought of them being serious made her laugh.
----------------------------------
The door slams closed.
Gossip Girl rolls her eyes, "Tempemantal wrench," she mutters.
She lays in her bed. Her hands lift her sketchbook into the air as her survey her sketchbook with designs from earlier this year. Across from the bed is a bookshelf with sketchbooks from years before, books on sewing, and her sewing kit. Next to it is a simple mannequin her sister handed down to Gossip Girl during her third year of junior high. A few inches to the right her is her desk. It's covered with papers, flats, and slim scraps of fabric. A sewing machine sits on top of it all. On the floor beside the desk are containers filled with folded fabrics. Sorted by material and colors.
Her phone rings. She tosses the notebook to the side, sits up, and answers the phone.
"What?" she says.
"There are better ways to great people on the phone, you know," #82 says.
"Thanks for your input, I'll think about it."
She hears #82 sigh. "Let's get started."
"Who wants to go first," asks #79.
"I'll go first," The Server says, "Our newbie here should go last since this is her first call."
Gossip Girl rolls her eyes.
"Well starting with Miss blue-haired girl," The server says. Her tone so lovely its like she's singing, "You've become really athletic."
"What are you talking about?" #82 says.
"When you were chasing down Mori and Hino at the mall yesterday, you were incredibly fast. I had a hard time keeping up with you."
"Really? I'll write that down."
"I guess I ended up getting distracted anyway. If I had known, I'd probably wouldn't try running myself."
Gossip Girl speaks, "You getting distracted was your own fault. Don't act like it was inevitable."
"Hmm? But there was no way, I'd ever been able to ignore that cute blouse that was in the store window."
"Still," #79 says, "You'd think you'd be capable of coming back to earth after seeing a nice blouse."
"Oh, you're wrong. It wasn't the blouse, but the price they're were selling it at. It left me winded. It knocked my brain into the atmosphere and it didn't come back until she was completely out of sight!"
"That might be the most non-sensical thing I've heard you say," #79 utters. It earns a swift chuckle from Gossip Girl.
"No really! All I could think was of how I could make the same blouse for less," she explains.
