CHapter 1:

My mother always used to say "You don't need a man Adelaide, to be successful in life." But as a young teenage girl, i would always nod my head and look away thinking of all the love stories of boy meets girl, girl falls in love with boy, than happily ever after, and wish to myself that one day i get a fairytale ending. But as this story will soon tell happily ever after is just a load of hogwash.

Lets go back to where it all started year 9 at St James. It was around the month of June, when i thought life was going great. I had my best friend Casey, you know that one girl you think is your sister, that treats you right and is so nice you forget that you have any other friends. I had good grades, supportive friends and that way to perfect guy friend Danny, who was there for me no matter what. Everything was great.

As normal on a school day my alarm goes off at 6:15am. This morning i felt overly happy and excited. You know the mornings you just see things so much brighter and way more positive? This was one of those days. I jumped up to my favourite song at the time 'Brick by boring brick' by Paramore. "Go get your shovel and well dig a deep hole, to burry the castle, burry the castle." I sung while i was jumping around the room. "Adelaide Campbell you better be quiet before you wake up your sister." I have always been jealous of my sister in so many ways, one she so dam pretty and smart, and two she gets an extra 1 and a half hours sleep more than me. As i quietened down for Mum i decided i would fix my messy bed hair. Looking at my hair, i realised this is going to be a challenge getting it to at least look decent.

I sat at my dresser and looked for a bit before taking out my overnight washed wet hair and letting it sit before I decided a high bun and some strangling pieces would have to do. I tried to hide the fact that i sat there trying to perfect it for 20 minuets. After i had finished i stopped before getting up. I looked at a photo of me and Danny Looking at how perfectly blue his eyes were and the way his beach wavy light brown hair, just sat in the right place. I think it was about 5 minutes before i snapped out of it thinking why am i looking at my best friend like that.

I grabbed my bag and walked out to the front yard. As I passed the old shed I heard a rustling within. My heart started beating fast i could feel it in my chest. I walked towards the door ready to pounce. I placed my shaken hand on the door, as I tried to control my breathing, I turned the door knob, then counted 1...2...3

I pulled the door open so fast i could feel the wind against my face. As my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I saw a figure which jumped at me screaming "NALLA!". I almost pissed myself with fear. I jumped back and fell to the ground in a lump.

Danny ran out after me and knelt down infront of me. I was sitting on the floor, holding my shaking legs up towards my chest, resting my chin on my knees and closing my eye tight.

Danny said sincerly and softly " i'm so sorry Nalla" the way his deep sexy voice gave me chills was a normal thing but with how close he was i was getting and unknown feeling in the pit of my stomach. it was almost like i had butterflies. But wait i dont feel anything for Danny. I switched the feeling off as Danny came down to my eye level and with his finger, raised my chin carfuly. He lent in slowly and kissed my cheek so delicatly almost like i was made of pure china. I couldnt keep the flutters in my stomach away, they rushed back in a storm. Gosh this boy must be the sweetest in the world.

Danny put his arms under my knees and around my back, picking my up with ease. This boy is crazy strong. I could feel his muscles tense as he held me close to him. " Nalla again i'm sorry."

I struggle to get out of his hold. He didnt try and help either. I had one leg on the ground and one still over his arm. He giggled trying to disguise it as a cough. I slapped his cheek. suddenly He dropped my other leg and stood with his hands in the air like as if the police were pointing a gun at him. "Stand back the b*tch is out". He said teasing me. "lets get to school Simba".
