Chapter 5

I stayed up all night digesting all the things my mom told me. How is it possible?, Elves?.
      How is it possible they exist?.
I just cant believe it. So, Rose is an elf. Then what of Josiah, what is he?. How do I talk to them again?
With all this questions in my mind I drifted off to sleep.

The next day.
"Mum, all those things you said about magic, Elves etc... how...like- how do you call an elf if u want to talk to them or do they have cell phones 'there'."
   "Of course not dear, Elves are very close to nature, we can actually communicate using trees, grass, etc."
"Mum when you said we, you actually mean y-y-you..."
   "Yes I am an elf"
"But why don't you have long ears?"
   "There is a special formula. It is very rare and very few people has it. It can make an elf lose their characteristics. It is extremely dangerous."
"Do you use it on yourself? But why?"
"I have a responsibility and besides you can't actually want me to walk around in human world with that kind of ears, right?"
"No, that would be weird" I continued with concern "it doesn't actually hurt  you right?"
         
      She just smiled.

"So back to the question"
"Ah! Yes just go over to a tree and say message and whom you want it delivered to."
"And it will work?"
"Well, you are half elf..."

I walk to the mango tree at my backyard and whispered, " Uhm... Rose,this is my first time doing this...but I want to try to believe you. So, come ok?."
   This is stupid, I mean talking to trees?. Why do I even try?, I rolled my eyes and went inside the house.

In a scene forest two figures are seen there one lying down with one hand under his head and one of his legs propped up, eyes staring at the sky. And another
"Rose, what are we going to do? She doesn't believe us. How are you sure she IS the chosen one. She has no clue of what elves are"
" Don't worry Josh she'll come around"
" I mean why-"
"Shhhh... I heard something."
   "It's Crystal's voice" Josiah whispered to her.

"Rose, this is my first time doing this..."
Josiah's eyes got so round "It IS her". "shhhhhhh" Rose queried.

"...but I want to try to believe you. So come ok?".

"We need to get back to her" said Josiah
"Told you she is the chosen one" Rose said in a smug smile.

I went back inside Mum already prepared dinner. "Come sit" she gestured "what happened?, did she contact you back?".

"I don't know mum..." I sigh "do you know how she will contact me?"

"Sorry darling... contacting people differs from elves to elves. For example, the water elves use water to covey messages to far places. The forest elves use anything plants to convey their own message".

"I didn't see any grass moving or anything strange while I talked to the tree" I smiled "Mum... I guess am not the chosen one right?. Looks like I got all that chosen one stuff into my head." I told her

She just smiled and said "Finish your dinner sweetie"

I went to bed thinking about the strange people I saw in my dream last night. But I soon fell asleep.

Something soft and itchy touched my face as I turn to my side feeling the dirt and grass against my side. Wait, something is wrong...I open my eyes with great difficulty as I sat up right. I looked around my surrounding and saw grasses, flowers and trees, it seems to be a forest. Wait...WHAT AM I DOING IN A FOREST?!!!!

"Hey!"

I turn around quickly to see who made the sound.
