One of my favorite things about Percy Jackson is how it can make a light and funny situation out of (almost) anything. During the Percy Jackson and the Olympians books, this was shown from the chapter names that didn't hold anything back. It slapped you in the face with odd ways of describing things and references to other books and earlier chapters.Take Magnus Chase for example. I'll give you a few examples of my favorite nine chapter names (for the nine worlds):
Do Not Call Me Beantown. Like, Ever.
Thou Shalt Not Poop on the Head of Art
Hearthstone Passes Out Even More Than Jason Grace (Though I Have No Idea Who That Is)My Sword Has a Better Social Life Than I Do
Should I Be Nervous That the Pilot is Praying?
Here Comes the Bride and/or the AssassinMy Sword Takes You to (Dramatic Pause) Funkytown
Follow The Smell of Dead Frogs (To the Tune of "Follow The Yellow Brick Road")
I Become as Poetic as... Like, a Poetic PersonI mean, look at how creative those are. I barely see any with those fun little names, or even the perspective switching of Heroes of Olympus!
To quote my own story ("How to not die on a quest"):
chapter I - annabeth kills me with her eyes
chapter II - my mom appears on a table
and so on. To give context, the character has a crush on Annabeth's sister and Annabeth hates Main Character. To summarize this chapter, be creative with your chapter names when writing Percy Jackson fanfiction!
