Soon Adriel retired to bed after a hefty afternoon meal with her family. She yawned and took out Luke's bracelet from her purse along with hers and she wore it.

She then looked out the window.

Alex's house was very close by and she had a clear view of their house. She wondered how he was doing if things went well with his Dad.

She suddenly saw the front door of their home swing open and saw Alex come out of the house in a hurry to his car before hastily driving off, only narrowly missing a trash bin.

Her stomach dipped.

"Alex?"

Adriel ran down the stairs in a hurry.

She had no clue what could have made him leave like that?

Did he and his dad get into a fight?

Her parents looked up at her in surprise as she rushed into the living room.

"Honey?" Her dad's eyes were wide in shock.

"Where are you going dear?" It was her mother. She was staring at her with worried eyes.

"It's Alex, something's happened. I need to go." She said hurriedly.

Adriel only grew more suspicious when she saw a flicker of an understanding pass between her parents.

Adriel moved closer to them.

"Mum, Dad. What's going on?" She asked anxiously. Her mother came to meet her.

"Sit down honey."

"No, I won't sit down. What's going on?" She asked, her heart was racing.

Her mom sighed and Adriel saw a sadness in her eyes that she hadn't seen in a long time.

"Katy's back." She said barely above a whisper.

Electricity flickered through Adriel's chest at the revelation.

Katy was Alex's mum, her mum's best friend, right up to the point she left.

"Oh no." She shook her head, taking a step back before running out the door.

She took her car keys and sped in the direction Alex went.

No, no, no, no, no.

The air was cool and serene, a huge contrast to how he felt.

He exhaled closing his eyes as the wind blew his hair in his face.

He hated the heaviness that had lodged itself in his chest.

Alex looked down at the tombstone in front of him.

He'd been there countless times. He came there when he had something on his chest, anytime he was bothered.

At first, it had been to beg Luke's forgiveness-he'd stayed there just begging and pleading for hours-but now it was to talk.

Alex looked up to the clouds in the sky.

"You were right you know." He mused a small smile on his face.

Luke's always been right.

"She came back just like you said she would." He said barely above a whisper.
