Soon they finished their treats and Alex drove her back home.

"I had a wonderful time," Adriel said. There were both in front of the main entrance.

"Me too." He smiled. Alex knew he'd missed his chance at the cafe and he thought it was probably for the best because he didn't want to lose her.

He'd rather have her as a friend than nothing at all.

Adriel didn't want him to leave, she was hoping he could finish telling her what he hadn't had the chance to at the cafe.

"I hope you sleep well Adriel." He said much to her disappointment but then he leaned down and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

She stood frozen, not knowing what to do, but she knew what she wanted. She'd wanted him to see her as someone other than his best friend's baby sister.

But he'd leaned back before she could say anything.

She was still standing so close and the urge to kiss her was becoming unbearable but Alex willed himself to take a step back.

"Don't forget to pray tonight. I'll be praying too." He said.

She nodded.

"Goodnight Adri." He said.

"Goodnight Alex." She said back. She watched him turn around and walk to his car.

He stopped and looked at her one last time. She thought she saw something in his eyes but he looked away before she could figure out what it was.

Alex entered his car and drove off.

Adriel let out a tired breath before going inside. Her parents were asleep on the couch, her mother's head was rested on her dad's shoulder.

She smiled.

She hoped she'd one day have a love like theirs. She made her way upstairs and closed the door. She needed to cheer up.

Alex was here and okay. That was all that mattered. She took off her clothes and got into more comfy ones.

She sat on her bed and took out her Bible and note. She closed her eyes and tried to focus. She let all the trouble of the day fade away and she focused on Him, on Jesus.

She smiled when she finally felt at peace. She began to worship Him.

She got lost in his presence. She continued to adore Him, give Him thanks.

She read her Bible and prayed. Soon she felt drowsy and soon fell asleep.

"Adriel." Jayden whispered. He knew where she lived. He'd been there before. The night was dark and the wind blew coldly, seemingly aware of the darkness that was slowly creeping into each house.

"It is time for harvest." He said crookedly.

More entities joined him as they prepared their attack.

A lot of people would weep that night.

He was in front of her house. He remembered the last time he'd been there.

A lot of things have happened since then.

Jayden looked up her window. Her room was on the third floor, on the west side of the mansion.

The silhouettes disappeared behind him, once they received their orders.

He'd sworn he'd get Adriel back. Dead or alive.

Jayden closed his eyes and he felt himself leave his body before being lifted in the air.

And soon, he found himself standing in her room.
