The detective picked up his head as he heard the alarm go off, an eery sound that he hoped would never come but of course it did. He got up, wiping the tears from off his cheeks and taking a deep breath, feeling scared but also confident that he will live through this, he isn't going to die here. No, not anytime soon. He's gonna do whatever it takes to live.

The doors opened a few seconds after the alarm went off, shuichi had to stop it since you know.. it'd continue going off unless shut off manually. He walked out of the room, realizing he was in a old office. So.. it was a run down work building, now being used for this joke of the purple haired boy. There was a elevator at the end of the room, so he was either upstairs or downstairs, as he continued walking there were lights turning on as he walked, motion sensors? His eyes adjusted to the light as they turned on around him.

That revealed a very.. short girl with long brown hair, a mask hiding her face as if to hide her identity.. almost completely. What stood out the most? The scarf of course, the checkered scarf almost everyone he has saw had. They all definitely had a relation towards each other. The brown haired girl was standing behind an object with a white table clothe over it, shuichi was curious as to what it was.. not in a good way, not at all. He could practically feel the grin on the girls face, she pulled off the clothe, shuichi could feel his legs growing heavy, they shook as if he was standing on a thin wire trying his best not to fall. That wasn't an object at all, that was one of his dearest friends.

An extraordinary pianist, performed at hundreds of not thousands of events. She was blonde, her hair going down to her shoulders with three silver hair pins that looked like music notes. Pink petrified eyes, rosy cheeks. She looked horrified. Duck tape over her mouth and tied tightly to a wooden chair. Her eyes were filled with tears, shuichi eyed her determined to get her out of here safe.

The brown haired girl cleared her throat and began speaking, her voice sounded strained but did suit her looks. "..Hellooo..! Welcome to our first challenge...-" she coughed, she was most definitely sick. Shuichi would feel sympathy for her if she wasn't possibly working with the purple haired imp. Obviously she was. "I-I'm sorry.. I'll try again. Welcome to our first challenge! Here we will test how strong your bond is.." she sighed, she definitely wasn't as cheerful as their leader is. She removed the tape from Kaedes mouth, "And no.. there aren't any other sacrifices being made tonight.." sacrifices? She untied the ropes so kaede could roam free, she left leaving the two with weapons and various instructions left on the table infront of the two. Kaede jumped up, latching onto shuichi sobbing, "Shuichi..! I'm so glad.. you're here!" She dug her face into his chest, shuichi feeling awkward as ever. She hiccuped as she spoke but.. there was hope. She always had hope and he admired that about her. He smiled in relief before realizing the situation they're in again. "Kaede.. we gotta get out of here without either of us getting harmed.." Kaede nodded in reply, reading aloud the instructions on the table. She began skimming over the text then reading, "For this challenge we test how much much you love the other friend." She paused, shuichi didn't know where this was going and he didn't like it. "One will be a sacrifice in order for one of the friends to continue on, as you can see there is an elevator across the room." She took a moment to catch her breath, shuichi felt himself shaking again and Kaede placed a shaky hand on his shoulder as if to comfort him. She gave him a determined look much more different from the scared. Hopeless expression she had a little bit ago. "The elevator opens automatically after you continue your task. Have fun and choose your decisions wisely.. remember there's a 5 minute timer." Kaede stopped reading, shuichi thought this over. There was a five minute timer, it started right after she finished reading. They'd have to decide who'd they.. sacrifice. Obviously there was no way of leaving unless they spent their five minutes forcing their way out. The thing was, he wasn't told what would happen if the time were to run out. "Shuichi.. I want you to move on." She spoke up, shuichi felt dread deep down. But what else could they do? No he didn't want his closest friend to die but it's all they could do.. for now atleast. "Why you..?" Shuichi didn't get anything to speak, kaede took the males hand and placed it in hers, "I want you to continue.. please..? For me! Don't lose hope!" She smiled letting go of his hand.

A metal collar locked onto her neck, as if it were a noose, pulling her upwards. Shuichi tried to reach out, but couldn't seem to do so. He couldn't get any words out, his best friend was dying right infront of his eyes. Swinging side to side like a doll, this went on for about a minute til she was limp, he sobbed. That was all he could do.. is sob. This couldn't be real. No, it had to be a dream of some sort. But he just couldn't wake up. The elevator opened as the wall behind kaede came to collapse, he couldn't just stand there. He had no choice but to leave now, it would've crushed him and the now, hanging pianist.

This wasn't a joke.
She was dead.
Why was she brought into this?
Those thoughts crossed his mind as the doors of the elevator closed, seeing the dark red blood splattered across the room. There was nothing of his dear friend left, only the blood and crushed organs. He would do anything to have her back, please.. let this be one big nightmare.. He didn't have the energy to cry, not at all. The elevator dropped down a floor, so they were going down.. and not up. That explained why there were no exits, only doors to various office rooms.
