Sighing, Harry stood up and walked out of the great hall without eating, not hungry. It was dinner time, and everyone was avoiding Harry because of Umbridge's accusations. He never expected his 5th year to turn out so terribly, and never before had he ever felt so alone.
Seeing the brunet leave, Draco bid goodbye to his friends and hastily stood up to follow him out. Purposely bumping into the small boy and making him fall, he began taunting. "A little clumsy today, eh, Potter?" Malfoy sneered. Potter just got up, mumbled an apology, and walked off ignoring Draco.
'Odd, he usually yells back at me all angry or draws his wand. Why isn't he doing anything now?' He wondered. Catching Harry's arm, he pulled him back.
"Leave me alone, Malfoy," Harry said plainly.
"Why should I, scarhead?" Draco scowled. Potter kept a blank face showing no emotion and rolled his eyes. Harry ripped his arm away from the blond and sauntered off, still keeping his head up.
'Why does he have to always be such a git?' Harry groaned. He brought his fingers to his head, and gently massaged his scalp. 'I need a break.'

Around midnight, Harry silently slipped out of bed and grabbed his invisibility cloak. He put on his slippers as his feet touched the cold stone floor. Casting a silencing charm on his feet, he made for the portrait and ran. After taking a calm stroll, he climbed up the stairs to the Astronomy Tower. Sitting on the ledge, Harry closed his eyes and began to hum a soft tune.
Draco lazily paced around the castle halls for his prefect duties, growing increasingly more bored by the second. When he rounded the Tower, he heard a someone singing. Curious, Draco tread behind the voice as it got louder, quietly creeping into the room to find an astonishing sight.
There sat none other than Harry Potter extremely close to the edge with small tears streaming silently down his face. His cheeks were flushed pink from the cold, his eyes were red and puffy, and his nose was sniffling to keep himself from sobbing.

Harry finished the song getting quieter and tears drying out. As Draco came closer to here him better, his foot stepped on a dry leaf making a loud 'crunch.' Harry spun around expecting Filch or a teacher, only to meet Draco's grey eyes. Green eyes widened in vulnerability and shock. Gaping, he stood up, stumbling clumsily.
Smirking, the blonde drawled, "You do know it's past curfew, right Potter?" Looking down Harry didn't respond.
"Er, yea. But did you hear anything? Like- you- I dunno..." the brunet trailed off.
"Your pitiful singing? Yes, I did," Malfoy insulted, "I would be quite embarrassed if I sang like that! Horrible really." Harry's face heated up in shame as he stared down at his feet. The genuinely crestfallen look that filled his eyes went unnoticed by the young Malfoy.
"Oh, and Potter- thirty points from Gryffindor for staying out at curfew," Malfoy called back while walking away.

'Ugh, goddammit! Why am I still not sleepy?' Harry pondered the next night in his bed, 'Maybe I could- no. Malfoy might catch me again and take house points. But... maybe I could go the forbidden forest instead!'
Once again, Harry grabbed his invisibility cloak, cast a silencing charm, and ran to the forest. Finding clearing under a tree, he sat down to think. He closed his eyes and started to hum again. Soon, he started singing once more as the night before.

Opening his eyes, he came to find a small note and a blank paper in front of him.
