CHAPTER SIX
COME A LITTLE CLOSER

"Hey Baby!" Nova yelled out to Kie as she entered the boat. Nova and Kie were always far too flirtatious with each other around the boys, Nova loving the way their pupils would dilate and their eyes would go wide when they would act like they would. Nova was never against the idea of dating a girl, and Kiara was her hot best friend. So in turn they both flirted until tension was high and John B told her to tone it down.

The others greeted Kie as she entered the boat, setting down a cooler full of beers and handing the group one each.

"Salud" We repeated as we clinked the glasses together.

Kiara and Nova sat on the front of the boat, giggling with eachother about stupid shit like the way Pope would steer or what the other islanders would be doing when we passed them.

"Why don't you guys ever want to include us in your girly convos?" JJ asked, sitting down between the girls, putting his arm around Kie and placing his hand on Nova's thigh.

"Because JJ, we don't like you as much as we love each other" Nova explained, pinching him in the arm and giggling when he pretended to wince.

"Could we make your couple a throuple?" He asked, looking Nova up and down sending a shiver down her spine. She was wearing a pale pink string triangle bikini, contrasting perfectly against her skin that always seemed to be tan. JJ loved the view, though he would never say it aloudd, partly for his own ego, and also because John B would kick his ass so fast.

"Absolutely not." Nova responded dryly, pushing his hand off her thigh, watching amused as he sent her a frown.

"Terrifying." Kiara added.

"Lemme show you guys a little party trick." JJ spoke towards the girls, standing up from his spot between them.

Nova rolled her eyes in anticipation, quickly finishing her beer so she could give all her attention to the blonde boys antics.

"Uh Hey Pope? Can you go a little faster?" JJ asked towards his best friend, watching as he mumbled something under his breath.

"God here we go, I'm moving." John B spoke, moving towards the back of the boat to get out of the way for JJ's next trick.

"We've tried this like 6,000 times" Pope replied, his tone reserved.

"I got this, It's gonna work." The blonde boy insisted, standing up on the front of the boat. Nova giggled when the beer completely missed his mouth, watching with laughter as it flew instead into her and Kiara.

"Oh my God you're getting it in my hair!" Kiara yelled, watching JJ continue to try and catch the alcohol in his mouth.

"Alright you're done." Pope yelled up to JJ.

Nova stood up with a smirk on her face, walking up behind JJ in hopes to push him off the front of the boat.

Instead, the boat came to a screeching halt, sending JJ and Nova off the front and into the water.

Nova yelled as she flew into the marsh, landing right next to JJ who seemed to do a backflip in the air as he fell.

Nova surfaced with a cough, swimming over to JJ to use him as a floatation device. She wrapped her legs around his torso, watching with a heavy breath as he bobbed and tried to catch himself.

"You Okay Nov?" Pope yelled out to the girl.

"Yeah no I'm just great Pope thanks for asking." She answered, her voice coarse and rough like it always is.

"JJ?" He asked, ignoring Nova's negative reply.

"I think my heels touched the back of my head." He answered, wrapping his arm around Novas waist to keep her steady on him as they both struggled to catch their breath.

"You did a full 360 out there Jay." She giggled into his ear, laying her forehead onto his shoulder to try and pull herself back to reality.

"Pope, what did you do?" JJ asked towards the boy driving the boat.

Nova lifted her head, pushing her hair out her face with her hands, slicking it back and tucking it behind her ears.

"Sandbar." Pope replied, "The channel changed."

"No shit." JJ commented, swimming him and Nova towards the front of the boat.

Nova released herself from JJ, watching as he tried to grab her back into his arms, she shook her head gently, swimming out and away from him for a second, ignoring his confused facial expression.

"Guys... I think there's a boat down there." Pope announced, looking to wear Nova was treading water.

Nova had noticed as well, staring down at where she was swimming with a slight expression of horror.

The others protested his statement, saying he was crazy. Nova went about a foot under water, opening her eyes and squirting to see that there was in fact, a boat under the water.

"No, no, guys. I'm serious. There's a boat down there." Pope insisted, staring down at Nova, watching as she reserfessed and began to slightly panic.

"Hey guys he's not kidding, there's a whole boat just like, here." Nova called out, watching as they took her more seriously because well, Nova didn't swear in that sentence, and she always swears.

The group removed their clothes, all diving into the water and swimming over to where Nova was treading. They went under the water together, looking at the submerged boat.

John B grabbed Nova's hand to pull her to the surface with him, always second guessing his sister's swimming skills, knowing he would rather have her be safe than anything.

They all gasped as they broke the surface, looking around at each other in awe,

"You guys saw that?"
