"She says she's not coming!" Pope yelled from the doorway of 'the wreck'. The group had piled in the van, and driven to get Kiara, JJ and John B in the front, Nova in the back doodling on her arm.

"Why not?" JJ called back to the boy, "What'd you do to her John B?"

Nova perked up from her spot in the back, "If you hurt her Johnny, you better watch your back because I will have no hesitation to beat your ass into the gravel."

JJ huffed a laugh, "He's 6 feet tall and Novie, you're a muffin."

The brunette girl got up from her seat and quickly went up behind JJ, wrapping her arms around the seat to grip his shoulders jokingly,

"I am not a muffin." She stated as John B left the car. The blonde curled his finger at her, and she climbed over the seats, settling herself into his lap. She sat sideways on him, back pressed against the van door.

He pulled her into him sarcastically, ruffling her hair and pressing a kiss into her forehead, "Yeah, you are."

The brunette scoffed, JJ cutting her off quickly by placing a soft kiss into the crook of her neck, "Shut up," He mumbled.

She sighed in defeat, allowing herself to melt into his hold.

The van door opened quickly, the rest of the group jumping in.

Nova jumped at the opening, climbing into the backseat to quickly ask Kiara what the fuck her ¼ brain sibling did to her, "I'll beat his ass if you want Kie. I-"

"I'm fine Nov."

"You mind if I just relax on this one?" JJ asked from the back of the van, "It's been a long day, and a lot of weird stuff's gone down."

The group nodded at him, Nova too entranced in the way the trees meshed together outside, the van moving too quickly for her to see detail.

"I'm just gonna lay low." He continued, "Did you want a hit of this?" He asked the brunette next to him.

Pope looked like he actually shuddered at the thought, "I keep the signal clear."

"Dude, okay. Do you understand that your problem is that you don't get creative?" JJ replied back to the smart boy, "If you got creative then-"

Nova quickly pulled the joint from his hand, placing it on his lips to shut him up. He breathed in the smoke deeply, and watched as the girl brought the joint to her lips after. She took a breath, blew the small cloud out and quickly sucked it back in.

JJ's mouth parted as he watched, "Who taught you that muffin?"

"That is not going to be a thing." She mumbled back.

John B began, speaking up from out of the blue, "Look, I-- I know I was wrong about the lighthouse all right?" He stuttered, "And wrong about everything else going on. But I- I was right about one thing."

"Dude why do you literally always speak out of nowhere." Nova whispered, the group ignoring it.

"My dad is trying to tell me something."

"Hey, come on," John B whispered to Kiara as they walked through the graveyard.

Kie spoke back quickly, "I'm coming, this place is scary."

"I mean it's not, but okay." Nova quickly muttered.

The group looked at her with wide eyes, she gave them a confused look back, "What? It's not."

They promptly ignored her statement, they did a lot of that, "What are we doing?" Kie asked.

John B quickly shushed her, "You know how you're trying to remember a song but you can't remember who sings it?"

The group all nodded, a unanimous yeah from everyone expect Nova, who mentioned quickly, "You could just google the lyrics."

JJ quickly shushed her, placing his hand over her mouth even though he was entertained by her one liners.

"So Redfield. This whole time, I thought it was a place, right? But it's not a place." He shined his light on the stone, 'redfield' carved in big bold letters, "It's a person."

Nova groaned loudly, "I literally said that like 3 days ago. We could've saved so much time if someone would fucking listen to what I'm saying."

"Voi-effing-la." JJ murmured, throwing his arm around the small brunette. She felt like shrugging him off, annoyed with the way everyone was pretending like she didn't exist.

So she did, walking up closer to the stone, feeling satisfied when he heard his arm fall and hit his side.

"See, my great-great-grandmother, Olivia Redfield, That was her maiden name."

Nova wanted to speak again, but she quickly shut her mouth, reminding herself that they probably wouldn't listen anyway.

The group shined the light on the grave, all taking in the way it looked, old and probably haunted.

"Help me with the door." The tall brunette mumbled, the boys lining up against the door.

"One, two, three." They pushed.

They both grunted loudly, the door not budging, JJ placed his hands on the door as well, "I got it."

Pope quickly gave up, "This door is like 700 pounds. It's not gonna budge."

"We didn't come this far to just get this far, all right?" JJ fired back.

Nova yelped, as the hissing started loudly. JJ stated quickly, "A snake."

"Thanks genius" She announced, jumping on his back. The group all yelling and jumping as to avoid the animal.

JJ hiked up the girl on his back, his arms gripping around her thighs, holding her to him tightly, That's a moccasin, all right. Ye olde Dr. Cottonmouth. Death in tall grass."

He started barking at the snake, Nova hitting the back of his head quickly, "JJ shut the fuck up."

"Shut up!" Kiara yelled at the boy who threw his hands up in defense.

"You're gonna wake the fuckin dead, man." Pope breathed.

JJ tried to defend himself, "They're afraid of dogs. Everyone knows that man."

Nova called out quickly, jumping down from JJ's back, "Wait, hold on."

The group answered quickly, "What?"

"I can get through." She announced, shining her flashlight at the hole in the concrete.

"What?" JJ questioned.

"I can fit through the hole, I'll do it."
