LH+Architects - The Fort

It was just two days after she completed her masters, and the 29 year old Marina who came looking all glamoured up couldn't help but wonder why she is seated on a Williams-Sonoma sectional sofa in a very prestigious and sought after architectural firm in the whole metro.

I'm still cynical about this. How did I even land here? She thought. Her eyes wandered around the stunning headquarters. Of course, the interior would be impressive. It's the best firm in the region. No wonder they could pull off this industrial themed interior design in a skilled manner.

"Architect Beltran, your office is all set," approached the assistant HR manager to Marina in a friendly manner. She then handed out the keys that were labeled Marketing head office.

Marina stood up and fixed her custom-made steel wool gray blazer before receiving the keys.

Architect... ah, it gets me every time, Marina smiled proudly. Even if it has been more than four years that she obtained her license, she would still feel butterflies after hearing her name with that title.

When it comes to productivity, Marina's ultimate goal is to gather experience as much as possible, especially when it is related to anything that links up to her profession. It has been half a decade since she started working in the industry and she has been high-yielding ever since, and it is solely, none other than her unfaltering dedication towards work.

As her father would always say, "You'll be successful as long as you are in the right environment and if you exert a hundred and one percent of your effort."

The marketing department of LH+ was indeed a hectic place, but the scene was not new to Marina's veteran eyes. She was tagged as the most workaholic of the marketing department in her previous firm, and by that the executives of the company would express their admiration for her in ways that she couldn't imagine.

With all of the weight placed on her shoulders, Marina headed to the workspace of the marketing department. There were less than ten people working inside and they stood up to greet her as soon as she entered the area.

"All right," Marina started in her trademark bossy yet optimistic tone, causing the employees do a quick run to convene in front of her. "Firstly, I would like to say that I am very honored to be working here," her eyes landed on each employee, in the hopes of retaining their faces in her memory in the shortest time possible.

The look on the employees faces somewhat turned to appear troubled when she began inspecting their faces one by one. What did I do now? Marina was actually confused by the change of their expression.

"Second, I am very strict when it comes to detail, considering the fact that we are working in an architectural firm. Our company is already a household name in this industry and tolerating inaccuracy is not on my list."

Anyone who has worked with her may have an opinion on this one. When she started working in the industry, Marina would always appear to be carrying a heavy rain cloud above her head even if she is a person who has a positive outlook in life. Boss genes, a former subordinate labeled her.

Marina, this is it. You worked so hard, now you're at the crest, she spoke to herself.

Even if Marina owned a formidable image, her sense of meekness will always be seen. Her foundation of humility is built securely due to the circumstances that molded her to become an upright person.
