- a few days later -

Midoriya and Bakugo didn't talk for a while. They barely even looked at each other.

For the other classmates it felt like that silence was even worse than when they still were rivals and what worried them the most was the fact that no one knew why.

Midoriya had no idea what to do, his brain had completely shut down and wasn't working properly. Every day, he had to ask help from his friends for the notes of the classes and he felt so guilty for it.

Bakugo felt hurt, he didn't understand Midoriya's silence. He had waited for him to accept and understand, but Midoriya just didn't seem to get through his head that he liked him. And a lot too. But he would've waited, because he wasn't giving up on him that easily.

It was afternoon and Midoriya was finishing up the homework for next week: in fact, he was so stressed he had been anticipating all the homework he had to get his mind off of everything. He had also been training more than usual, just so he could release all his stress under the form of energy, working out a lot and training One for All.

But now he had finished and there was no homework left to do.

He got up from his chair and looked out the window: it was dark outside. He looked at the time and he saw that it was almost 9:30 pm. He stretched a little and went out of his room to go to the bathroom. After that, he headed to the kitchen to have something for dinner and drink some water.

Nobody was there, probably they had already gone to their rooms since the next day would've been packed and they needed to get up early.

Midoriya felt very tired, so he had no doubt he was going to fall asleep in a second. He just grabbed an apple and a glass of water, he didn't even feel that hungry but he still needed energy to train, so he had to eat something.

He sat down on the couch, sighing and looking at the moon out the window. Everything was silent and peaceful and he was happy about it, while he munched down on the apple. He needed that tranquility, that there wasn't in his mind.

Why... Why... Why would he like me? I still can't get it. I still don't comprehend... why?

That was all he could think about and it was driving him insane because he didn't understand anything: he didn't know why couldn't he just accept Bakugo's feelings and his own. He immediately felt his eyes watering. He took a deep breath and shook his head, as if by doing that everything would've gone away.
<Midoriya, are you okay?>

A deep but soft voice reached him from behind: it was Todoroki.
<Oh, Todoroki-kun! I'm fine-> he tried to answer, but Todoroki cut in, saying:
<I can see you're crying... You're not fine.>

Midoriya stood silent. Todoroki always knew what was going on through his mind, he perfectly knew he wasn't fine in the slightest. He didn't even question why the other boy was there, he knew that he needed some help from someone.
<Well... No, I'm not fine.> he said, not daring to look up.

Todoroki sighed and sat down beside him. It had been a while since they talked alone.
<Then, maybe tell me about it. I might not be helpful but I can still listen.> he said. Midoriya nodded.

He then took a deep breath and started talking.
<Don't... Tell anyone I told you this please, or... Kacchan will be mad at me and that's not what I want. Me and him went... Went on... A date... A few days ago.>

Todoroki widened his eyes.
<A date?>
Midoriya nodded and continued.
<We had a really good time, we went hiking and I was wondering around all the time. Then he took me to his favorite place there and it was super beautiful. And then... There, we... Kissed... At first I kissed him back but... Something inside me told me to get away, because... There was no way he could possibly like me back. And I ran away from him. He caught up to me and we came back in silence. It was... I just couldn't believe it, I... I don't know.>
